RFK thought it was “inevitable” that he would be President too.

No. I very much doubt you can document that.

He had come to feel sanquine about fate (due to his brother's assassination), but he didn't have any belief about what his fate would be.

Huh? Ex-presidents? You lie!

All week I hear a pundit or two mention this super-delegate thing and no one in the TV surround seems to know. I heard somebody or another mention ex-governors but only once.

Well damn isn’t that odd, this super-delegate thing that no one seems to know who they are?

I can’t wait until Obama loses this thing and count on it that he will lose. Because it will either be suddenly counting Florida votes or these super=delegates vote over the will of the people and boom, Clinton will win.

It’ll be fun to sit back and watch a replay of the 2000 Florida fiasco again, with Florida possibly being a big player again, only this time just between the Dems. The notion makes the political junkee in me smile. I heard one pundit say that the Obama campaign didn’t campaign in Florida because it was assumed it wasn’t in play. Then Florida changes the rules AFTER the fact? How is this fair? Yeppers, ladies and gems, we get to watch Obama charge the Clintons with unfairness and watch the Dems in a foodfight.

And Huckabee is winning everywhere and yeah, I’ll buy it’s a backlash against McCain.

They insist on shoving McCain down our throats and we keep fighting back however we can, to the point that we might have to take Huckabee over McCain.

None of this GOP stuff should have come down this way. The pubbies need to sit down and rethink how they do stuff.

If she’s a vice president, that President had better make darn sure the secret service is vigilant. Arkancide!

McCain’s a terrible, terrible speaker.

Dubya has his problems but McCain’s voice is shaky, whiny and he says the dumbest damn things sometimes.

Yeah. He’s worse than GWB, and that’s hard to do.

The Dems went to super delegates to prevent any future George McGoverns ( ~ radicals) from running..They may favor Hillary but it is going to be a very tough sell to their Dem constituency that Obama is not their choice, especially if he is leading in committed delegate votes..if that happens and they choose Hillary they will split the party.

As for Huckabee winning ?..i think it is a combination of Huckabee voters plus Stop McCain voters..That gives more strength to Huckabee, but also to Fred and Romney and possibly Hunter..

This may go into extra innings...more popcorn...

http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/01/superdelegate-list.html

All those delegates being elected by the two parties in all the primaries choose the next candidate for their respective parties, right? Yup - if you are a Republican, but not if you are a Democrat.

In the Democratic party, some delegates are more equal than others. The voters are chosing delegates, but have no say (directly) in the super delegates.

http://www.rightpundits.com/?p=1065
Super Delegates are elected Dem party officials. The “Super Delegate” system was set up to prevent candidates from winning that the party establishment don’t want to represent the party. The Super Delegates are not bound to vote for any particular candidate and to top it all off, Bill Clinton is a Super Delegate!!

“They can try the slime but that will also likely create a backlash against the Clintons. The black vote will stay home on November if they “whack him”.”

If Hillary defeats Obama through dirty tricks he can claim that he was “electorally lynched”. People in Watts, Harlem and Chicago will riot in the streets then.

Break out the Orville Redenbacher. This is going to be an interesting few months.

If somebody had told me these primaries would go the way they're going I'd have laughed in their face. If you know what I mean and I think you do.

It seems to be turning into the power of the people versus the political elites.

Consider, name the top dog political elite of the Dems and the top dog political elite of the pubbies. I'd come up with the names of...oh...a Clinton and John McCain.

This pubbie thing is turning into such a surprise that I think we all were blindsided. Now Huckabee's winning everywhere! It's like we're fighting back wherever we can but it's almost surreal.

And the Dems march in lockstep until someone comes along with even a glimmer of putting down the Clintons and this is a hoot.

I'll share the popcorn watching the Dems but this GOP thing ain't over yet.
