Unlike McCain, Hitler 'Had a Coherent Tax Policy,' Coulter Says By Matt Purple CNSNews.com Correspondent February 08, 2008
(Clarification: Ann Coulter's appeared at the Omni Shoreham hotel but not at CPAC.)
Washington (CNSNews.com) - In a speech at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., Friday, just down the hall from the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), author Ann Coulter said that the primary difference between Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Adolf Hitler was that Hitler "had a coherent tax policy."
Coulter compared a potential alliance between disillusioned conservative Republicans and Sen. Hillary Clinton to the alliance between Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin during World War II, which was formed to defeat Hitler.
"I'm not comparing McCain to Hitler," she added. "Hitler had a coherent tax policy."
The remark received wild applause from the audience of about 500 conservative activists. Many in the crowd seemed hostile to the idea of a McCain presidency and cheered Coulter's attacks on the Arizona senator.
Coulter also criticized McCain for his sponsorship of the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform bill, accused him of wanting amnesty for illegal immigrants, and mocked his frequent touting of his military service in Vietnam.
"Couldn't we pick a POW who doesn't want to shut down Guantanamo?" she said.

“She needs to shut the F&*% up”
Sounds like the truth is a little uncomfortable to many.
BTW, if McCain is nominated by the GOP, he will lose worse than McGovern lost in 1972.
Entirely appropriate in this case. The argument over whether to support Clinton-Obama or McCain, is over, and the Clinton-Obama side has lost.

I don’t think Ann ever cottoned much to Fred, and I think for some of the same reasons she does not now like McCain.
Have to disagree with you on the second point of your post. Substance over obamalike excitement and fire in the crowds wins with me every time.
This woman is nuts.
At least, thats usually who they are.
You do have a point, the exit polls show most mclame supporters were liberal and liberal independents.
I'm having trouble finding that in what RR posted, could you be responding to the wrong post?
Hehe.
And a smaller Adam’s apple!
THAT is very true. The conservative talk show hosts attacking McCain in the days just prior to Super Tuesday, should have been talking up Romney instead of putting down McCain. That's where they all went wrong.
If I believed for one minute that McCain would mean the difference between us winning the WOT and getting attacked again, I would be voting for him. I don’t believe that. I believe he will be just as weak based on his stated positions.
Iraq is one nation, among many, in our national security strategy. Equally important is defending the borders of own nation and what we do internally to keep our citizens safe from not just terrorists, but domestic crime to include drug related crimes.
Because of open borders, wanting to allow 80 million more people into our country who we know nothing about, advocating less aggressive interrogation methods than water-boarding, wanting to close gitmo because he has allowed himself to be manipulated by world opinion, and wanting to give GC rights to terrorists, I view McCain to be just as weak on natl security as Hillary or Obama.
If I were an enemy of the U.S. such as the leader of Iran, I would want the U.S. to get sucked into a long, drawn out nation building mission in Iraq in order to build up nuclear weapons against them. That is exactly what we’ve allowed ourselves to get sucked into. Because of our liberal leadership in both parties, our fate has already been sealed. The only hope for a strong GOP candidate to emerge in the future is for us to take a strong stand now and make a strong statement. That is actually our last hope if we are to reverse course from this leftward march our nation has been taking for the last 20 years.
I think she says a lot of stuff while suffering from hypoglycemia. Pathetic anorexic woman.
Next thing you know she’ll be falling out of car without any underwear on.
14:59 and counting...
Hillary is to Stalin what Edwards is to faggot.
And we already know that most Americans are way over weight now days so it’s not surprising how many people think Ann Coulter is too skinny. Now days, not being at-least 30 lbs overweight is too skinny. I always get a kick out of the fat bottomed people sneering at the women who work out and don’t eat junk food all day.
Some of it was because of crooked shyster republicans. Some of it was because many politician's of both parties never saw a tax payers dollar that they did not want to spend three times. etc, etc
Are you THAT certain McCain can be trusted to follow through on pursuit of the war?
Has McCain not already shown his propensity to break all sorts of oaths and promises?
He is so desirous of love from the left — to keep that love, who knows how firm his stand would remain on the war —if ending it won him the adoration he so desires and his legacy as a maker of “Peace in our Time”....
He nearly broke his back, forgiving the Communists in Vietnam...
I personally witnessed how quickly he “forgave” our Communist enemy in Vietnam - and disrespected the families of POW/MIAs who were simply asking for the FACTS about their lost ones.. I also saw him slander the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth - while he was defending the undeniable liar and traitor Kerry..
I’m sorry — the man has already convinced me he can not be trusted to do anything that may impact HIS position or distract him for HIS goals....
If the nation or Republican Party fear for the Republic — they better show some balls and figure out a way to save it without McCain..
Those who still love and trust him will have to elect him, without my vote.
I disagree, but only because the D's are splintering to a greater degree than the R's. The D's convention will be a bloodbath (figuratively and maybe literally).
I’m only sometimes pretty good at reading comprehension. ;-p
I love Ann. I don’t know if she will eventually come around and support McCain, and since it’s not my business and everyone can support or not support who they want, I was just wondering how the posts might read from, say, Mitt supporters against Ann if it was him she had compared to Hitler at her speech at CPAC.

Sorry.....ain’t buying it. You vote the bad apples out and find and support replacements.
You do NOT sit in your Lazy-Boy on election day, popping open a brew and whining about it on your keyboard.
