A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....02-08,09,10-08....T.G.I.F. at the Finest

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest!   We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. If you missed seeing any of this week's threads and want to say hello there now, just click on the link for that particular day. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today through Sunday, please feel free to do that also. One of us will try to be around to see the welcome mat is still out, put the coffee pot on, and maybe even bring fresh flowers for the table. : )

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.
I received this in my email June 10th, 2006 - the author is unknown.
I am wearing red today and every Friday ~ Billie

Beautiful Post, jaycee!

I Snapped a Pic of the Ducks that have been Swimming in the King's Pond Lately, but it was Taken from Very Far Away with a Zoom Lense, so the Quality is Poor. (They're Shy, and Fly Away if I Even Begin to Go Down the Hill where the Pond is!) There are 2 Turtles Sunning themselves on the End of the Log in the Water, Lol.

I see the turtles...

In spring, before we take the cover off the pool, those ducks get on where the water has collected on the cover BUT....they ‘do their business’ (guess they think its a pond) and boy, does it smell bad. I try to shoo them away and they just quack at me. When I clap my hands real loud, they will leave until my back is turned. They are beautiful though. I just try to laugh and go on.

FR's Finest Haiku

Morning Memo Haiku

Ahem: Memo To
My Humans. "When Sun comes out.
Put food in my bowl!"

Breakfast is supposed
to be the most important
meal of the whole day

Yes, I had nibbles
off your Dinner plates last night.
That's beside the point!

Protecting the Yard
is hard work. I think I should
be compensated

We Felines run on
a fixed schedule. Delays won't
be tolerated

Need to inform
My Pretty One that Moles are
living near the fence

We met last Night to
talk. They will stay away from
Pretty One's garden

There will be more Red
Birds in the trees this Summer
making Sunny smiles

All that extra work
adds to my appetite. Not
so much for patience

I put half of my kitty’s daily feeding in her bowl before bedtime...unless I want her to wake me during the night..
Thank you, Jack.

That must be what my Neighbor Meant when he Told me that Ducks are Dirty Birds. No Telling how Yucky that Pond Water is! :(

The Ducks are So Wild Around Here that they won't Let me Come Anywhere Near them, not Even within 200 Ft. The Turtles will Let me Come Fairly Close, but it's still Many Feet Away. :(

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS!

Dear God, who suffered
torment, agony and death upon the Cross
to free our souls from the chains of iniquity;
protect and defend our troops. Guide them in the
performance of their duties. Strengthen them to endure
hardship, danger and deprivation in Your service.
Let their efforts free the people of Iraq from the
chains of terror and slavery, foster a lasting peace in the region,
and bring all to a greater share in Your mercy. Amen.

Meg, your Post is Outstandingly Beautiful! Thank you for Brightening my Night!

There are Robin Flocks Here Everyday Now, so Hopefully Some will Start Arriving at your Place Soon. : )

Some of the Robins have a Very Pale-Colored Breast, while Others have a Brilliant Deep Orange Breast, Like the One in the Pic you Posted. They are Sure a Pretty Bird.
