Wild and wonderful win for Huckabee Posted February 5, 2008 2 :36 PM West Virginia, site of one of the 24 primaries and caucuses in todays Super Duper Tuesday balloting, has given a victory to Republican Mike Huckabee.

The way Rush explained it . . Mitt had 41% of the votes, but then because that wasn’t 51% as required there, McCain gave his delegates to Huckabee (go figure) to give Huckabee a win. Huckabee has been promised something by McCain in payment for being a spoiler for Romney.
Careful using the "FRAK" word. God might not like it.
My tagline says it all...
> I guess you would rather have a complete socialist
> monster as President than someone who does not fit your
> strict definition of conservative.
Yes, that is true, and here is why.
If McCain becomes President, he will vigorously pursue vengeance against the conservatives in the Republican Party. Conservatives will be silenced and expelled from positions of power.
The Republicans in Congress will not be able to stop McCain, because they will have to go against their own leadership to do so.
In short, McCain will do to conservatives exactly what Hillary or Obama will do, except that he will have almost NO OPPOSITION in pursuing his evil ends.
On the other hand, if Hillary or Obama is President, the opposition will be mobilized and energetic. Republicans in Congress can oppose them with vigor, without going against their leadership.
In fact, if McCain does get the nomination, he will be crushed in the general election. He is too old and too nasty and has too many enemies to win the general election. Most conservatives will vote third party or write-in, rather than vote for McCain.
In such a scenario, not only will McCain lose the general election, but the current RINO leadership will be discredited and defeated, engendering the strong possibility that the conservatives can once again regain control of their party.
It’s the only hope I have at this point.
Though I voted for Duncan Hunter, I can say now that I regret doing so.
I believe that Mitt has truly had a conservative epiphany, albeit a tad too late to convince enough of the base. I also believe that he would have made a GREAT president and would have been a very pleasant surprise to so many of those here that have shunned him.
It is sad that the greatest hope I have now is for a Democrat president, so that we can at least mount a conservative opposition. It is the only chance we have.
A President McCain will do all he can to crush us, and there would be almost nothing to stop him.

I agree with your post #61.
Most chose Romney when faced with all candidates. McCain voters switched in the second round so as to prevent the leader (Romney) from winning.
Clear evidence that McCain and Huckabee are all about preventing Romney from gaining ground. Huckabee is not trying to win the presidency anymore.
“McCain gave Huckabee his votes so he would pass Romney.
Huckabee is McCains b*#ch.”
Or more likely, all of Romney’s negative adds in Iowa and early on are coming back to bite him in the a**.
Thank you ... you eloquently stated what I have been trying to explain when people have asked me who I would support if McCain were the nominee. As much as I would hate it, I would either sit out the election or vote for the democrat. The one thing that you left out was that, with a Dem president and congress, the 2010 mid-terms would most likely swing strong to the right.
But....but...but...
He’s a Babdist preacher. How can we go wrong!
/evangelical>
Then I quess we are screwed, I will instead project a landslide victory for Obama or Clinton, since I imagine not many will hold their nose and vote for the Liberal McCain.
There’s no doubt Huck and McPain are in cahoots. However, this is the way things work and we’d probably all do the same thing to get our guy to win.
You would have to mean “the gods” won’t like it...

“On the other hand, if Hillary or Obama is President, the opposition will be mobilized and energetic. Republicans in Congress can oppose them with vigor, without going against their leadership.”
I agree completely, and made that my tag line a few days ago.
Would never vote for McCain under any circumstances.
HUCKA-TRAITOR
Caucus voters are hacks for candidates. You cannot link caucus results and where McCain voters go to ling what would happen in an election.
It is a game, and the game now by Huck and McCain is to stop Romney.
What will you have to say when Romney wins something?

No. I know what God you think you mean.
You’re very welcome.
But don’t sit out the election.
There are plenty of other positions for which you must vote for the conservative candidate. We still need Republican congressmen!
But don’t forget to choose a valid third party or write-in a valid candidate for president. If you leave the presidential slot vacant, or if you vote for a dead or fictitious character, you may invalidate your ballot.
