Sorry Olds, you made a mistake all right -- the mistake of letting the public see how you really feel about a fine American institution like the US Marine Corps. The city council of Berkely has revealed to us that they are treasonous, treacherous haters of anything and everything that is right about this Country.

They have earned our contempt and our disdain, and no backpedaling they do now can reverse it.

I have been on top of this and written the downtown association, each member of the city council and the mayor.
I contacted the V.F.W. & the American Legion and fellow members, friends, family and fellow veterans and asked everyone to contact Berkeley. We all “read them the riot act!”
I suspect the downtown association has contacted these clowns and informed them that they don't need this hanging over their shoulders. After all money talks!
I received two emails from two of the council members who voted against this and they said that they are trying to get this rescinded.

Councilmember Darryl Moore said some of the complaints may have come from people who never planned on visiting Berkeley in the first place.

"Those people don't live anywhere near Berkeley and who's to say that they were coming to Berkeley to begin with?" he said. "I just think it would be unfortunate if the chamber did some sort of knee-jerk reaction to all of this."
