The worry is the fact that the left thought (and rightly so) that he WAS approachable.

If Kerry says one thing and McCain says the opposite, it's a sort of lying scumbag stalemate. There are no laws of logic, physics, or mathematics that can figure out which one is lying.

The odds are that there's some nuance that allows them both to be lying simultaneously, despite the apparent contradiction.

McCain considered being VP for Kerry. He also held discussions in 2001 about switching officially to Democratic Party. While details may be open to interpretation (how many phone calls between the camps, who made first official call etc) the faact remain that McCain was in discussions with Democratic Party.

Who knows who approached whom, but the real problem for McCain is that most of us believe that he actually would consider being Kerry’s running mate against an incumbent, war time, GOP president.

So what was the lie? You accused the Romney camp of lying - what was the lie?

Romney actually has a history of supporting democrat candidates over republicans (exclusively)in three different states.

When he decided to run for office in Massachusetts is when he decided to register republican.

Romney only knows what he’s told. McCain knows what he did.

“Now that John McCain is the target du jour, we suddenly find John Kerry a man whose word is good enough to settle the issue? Come on.”

Both are caulk-sucking liars who dumped their first wives for a richer, second wife.

It makes sense that McCain would eff the GOP; IT’S WHO HE IS.

I believe my own eyes..... mccain and kerry are birds of a feather. If i get my chance i will vote for romney. He is the only pubbie i will vote him.
the latest, Tammy Bruce “A vote McCain is a vote for hillary in a dress, VOTE MITT”......
Mitt is a good man. McCain is a freaking old codger of a liberal.
Huck is a class envy, religious bigot who wants to make nice with the enemy and screw Americans at the behest of anyone else in the world, who got into the limelight by amusing the MSM with worn out good ole boy arkansas talk.

If you think this makes Mitt look bad you you can lay off the koolade now.

McCain’s own people admit that Kerry approached McCain about joining his ticket. So apparently, McCain only disputes whose idea it was. What’s interesting to me is that McCain kept the whole thing a big secret until Kerry shot off his mouth.

I don’t want to support Mitt. It’s McCain’s fault. If he would just go away, wherever old, corrupt, unethical, Washington elites go, Maybe I would have someone besides Mitt to support, but McCain sticks around like a puss-filled sore.

Well, the easy thing to resolve this is to have McCain state for the record if John Kerry is lying with his previous statement that he approved him to run as his VP?

I actually agree with this one. Although I’m not sure I trust McCain either when he says he didn’t entertain the notion, so I’ll call this a toss-up.

Didn't all of us spend a certain amount of time in 2004 making the case to the American public that Senator John "cut off ears, cut off heads... razed villages in fashion reminiscent of 'Jen-jis' Khan" Kerry was not a trustworthy source?

"All of us?"

John McCain didn't make that case. To the contrary, he gave the Democrats sound bites with his unsupported claim that the TV ads targeting Kerry by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth were "dishonest and dishonorable."
