Well, the easy thing to resolve this is to have McCain state for the record if John Kerry is lying with his previous statement that he approved him to run as his VP?

Well, the easy thing to resolve this is to have McCain state for the record if John Kerry is lying with his previous statement that he approved him to run as his VP? Did you bother to read the article at all?
"First, the McCain stories were one of the first stories covered on the Kerry Spot, and we noted that McCain denied his interest every time it came up. When Kerry started claiming that McCain approached him, others noted that everyone around McCain describes it as Kerry approaching McCain, not the other way around, and Newsweek's account is that Kerry "badly wanted" McCain as his running mate."
If Kerry "badly wanted McCain as his running mate", why would McCain have to state that Kerry approved him?

That’s the most interesting part. Wouldn’t one think McCain would come out & vehemently deny this IF it was false? I’ve seen no such comments except from his surrogates. Given the fact that McCain is on tape saying he would consider the offer of VP if it was made at the time, I would lean towards the report of him making inquiry being true. No one here knows for sure, but McCain’s silence on the issue makes one go, hmmmmmmmmmmm.
This article would have had more credence if he would have gone to McCain & asked whether this was true. For that matter, has anyone done likewise? I’m sure some might fear for their safety for such a query, but still..... My, my, journalism at it’s best.
