Yes, I am clearly all too serious. Been my MO here for seven years. The 'serious' one.
No lightening up needed. It was a great rendition, just leave it at that and let the civil war go.

When I was in our church choir, back in Connecticut, we used to sing this version by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir every Fourth of July, at the end of Mass. It brought down the house.
I can understand that sourtherners have problems with its history, but it is ten times as powerful as the National Anthem, if only they can forget the original context and just think of it as—The Battle Hymn of the Republic.
Our Republic needs a Battle Hymn, and I’ve never heard a better one than this.

Eh, it was ok. I’ve heard better, not that it matters.
Go get yourself a Lewinsky. Seriously, don’t be so serious, and have some fun.
Give us some credit down here, by the way. We down in the South are keeping conservatism alive (by a thread—we’ll see how long it can last), no thanks to you strong Blue states.

Theres this little matter of murder and rape, crops stolen or burnt in the fields homes distroyed and starvation thats associated with that song that turns us off.
To: krb
Go get yourself a Lewinsky. You are exactly why I don't pass this site on to anyone anymore. Grow up.

I apologize for the imagery. That must seem so foreign and exotic (and therefore 'weird' to you).
I merely meant, lighten up, man.

Now thats a song! Here's a Yankee that loves that song. The older I get the more confederate I become. (Must have something to do with my Virgina ancestry.)

After having served nine years in the USMC.
After watching KKKlintoon burn people to death just because they owned guns.
After watching georgie-girl try to make our country into a province of Mexico, TWICE.
All I have to say is:
Oh, I'm a good old Rebel
Now that's just what I am
For this fair land of freedom
I do not care a damn.
I'm glad I fought against it
I only wish we'd won.
And I don't want no pardon
For anything I've done.

Yes, very foreign and exotic in the sense that I don’t go around touting getting blow jobs from strangers to attempt to make a ‘point’. Whatever works for you, though. No wonder you still feel the need to defend the south.
