Harry Smith: Did Bill Clinton Defraud African-Americans on Race?
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 01/28/2008 5:53:57 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Harry Smith won't be up on the platform with Ted Kennedy today endorsing Barack Obama. But he might be there in spirit, after having absolutely unloaded on Bill Clinton's on this morning's Early Show. The CBS anchor made the stunning suggestion that when it comes to matters racial, Bill Clinton may have perpetrated a fraud on African-Americans.

Smith's guest was "diversity expert" Joe Watson and you might have expected Watson [who FWIW impressed me favorably] to carry the anti-Bill ball. But ultimately it was Smith who offered the single most damning suggestion. The CBS host began by playing the clip of Bill's by-now infamous words from the weekend, writing off the Obama victory in South Carolina by pointing out that Jesse Jackson had won there twice in the 80s.

It's about time that the MSM " got it " --> White Democrats in general are racists who project guilt in the form of $$$ to keep minorities out of their neighborhoods (note the targeted assistance $$$ is ONLY for persons of color in certain minority neighborhoods which are crime ridden for the most part).

BUT the usual suspects DNC and MSM appear to be propping Obama up too... Was Barrack Obama their chosen in advance candidate because they KNEW Hildabeast could NOT win? She's polarizing to the max. They would have learned that in focus groups, on blogs, etc. well before the primaries started.

So, just in case, I think conservatives need to start paying attention to and supporting our own chosen candidate because the maggots from the DNC and MSM are consuming too much of our attention with this racial BS.

You see his speech after he won South Carolina? When I say credible I mean formidable and he will be in the general election whether as candidate for president or vice-president.

You had me going there for a minute.

Like you, I see more than several blacks that I could, and would support, that would be heads above anybody running.

Formidable yes, credible? Not in this life.

Now, were it Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, or some of the many other blacks that Conservatives can identify with, we would be talking credible. ;)

Credible black candidate?

Exactly whom would that be?

Steele, Swann and Blackwell in 2004, but the msm missed that. Right color, wrong party.

I noticed Mr. Clinton has compared ONLY B. Hussein Obama to Jesse Jackson and NOT John Edwards to Mr. Jackson. Given the average levels of overall support for each candidate, the Edwards to Jackson comparison would actually be more apt.

I wonder what OTHER factor Mr. Clinton could have had in mind when he was making his comparison. Hmmmmmm.

By the way, I am NOT a fan of Mr. Obama. I think he is a hard-core Marxist who will accelerate the destruction of our society (possibly to an even greater extent than Ms. Rodham-Clinton) and work every day to take away what litle is left of our individual liberty.

But this issue (I hope) will at least educate some people as to the high level of hypocricy of BOTH Clintons; something SOME of us recognized long long ago.

Yeah, Ted’s endorsement might just lock up the “bloated, incoherent, scotch-soaked millionaire” vote for Mr. Obama. That should easily put him over the top.

“If Obama is the Democratic nominee his Republican opponent is going to have to watch how he sneezes so as not to be accused of racism.”

True. Likewise, if Hillary is the democrat nominee, her republican opponent will have to watch how “he sneezes” so as not to be accused of offending a woman.

Only Sen. Fred Thompson could manage to win over either one without offending anyone. The loss of Fred Thompson is America’s loss. Indeed, there is none too blind as those who would not see.

"But, by the way, Obama is a deeply experienced fellow, not an empty suit in any way, with no ties to Muslims, and with solid ideas on how to make this country great. I heard it on the news."

If this guy wasn't part Black, you'd never have heard of him.

Scary movie...but I'm anxiously awaiting this much anticipated event.

Both Clintons are, and always have been, cheap grifters from Day One. They were frauds back in 1992 when Bill got only 43% of the vote. Thanks again to the "little hand grenade with a bad haircut" Perot for foisting this vile couple on the American people :-(

I certainly don't want to see Obama as president, but it's delicious to see the Clintons scrambling in horror and disbelief at the Obama juggernaut. Hopefully, they'll just skulk away for good after Obama gets the nomination.

Well, if Mitt’s gonna be our nominee, he needs to grow a set right now. Because whether his opponent is Hillary or Obama, he’s immediately going to be cast as the white guy running against America’s first golden opportunity to put a woman or a black in the White House. And since both are hardcore leftists, the media will go all out to elect either of them, and that will include playing the race or gender card at every opportunity.

Everything our nominee says or does, or has said or done, will be scrutinized beyond belief for signs of “racism” or “sexism”. If Mitt gives an eloquent speech we’ll be told it was designed to paint Obama as “ghettoish” by comparison. If he uses a football metaphor, he’ll be accused of trying to intimidate his dainty woman opponent with “violent sports analogies”.

If he gets defensive and starts apologizing, he’ll look like a wimp and dishearten GOP voters. What he’ll need to do is nip the problem in the bud by announcing that he’s not going to bow down to PC and that he’ll run his campaign any way he pleases. If Obama or Hillary can’t take it, they don’t belong in the big leagues.
