Incredibly stupid advice.
I remember everyone who sent a message by voting for Ross Perot. Hellooooo President Clinton....
Vote your conscience, because voting for ‘electibility’ is a proven failure.
I am planning on voting for Alan Keyes if he is no the ballot. If not I would write in Fred. U.S. Army Retired |
Possible short term pain for possible long term gain.
Do you even need to write in his last name, or just write “FRed”? They’ll know who we’re talking about, right?
I have a better idea. Vote for Mitt Romney and keep John McCain from getting the nomination.
Even if one was going to write in a candidate - why pick Fred Thompson? Write in “Ronald Reagan” if the intent is just a protest vote.
Might as well write in “Hillary!”. Same results.
I’m thinking about it. I have only once in my life voted third party. And once Democrat, because the Republican in question was the worse of the two.
And I did NOT vote for Ross Perot, because I thought he was a pipsqueak little jerk, and also because I noticed during the debates that he NEVER attacked clinton, but always Bush.
I’m not sure if this writer is talking about the primaries, or the November election, or both. But I do know that I will NEVER vote for Hillary, or for Obama, or for McCain, or for Giuliani. So unless there is some other alternative, a vote for Fred Thompson might in that case be the best solution.
"I can't respect the wishes of a man I purport to admire."
If it is a winner take-all primary, then this is a truly wasted protest vote.
“Mickey Mouse” would be as good a protest choice.
This is bad advice. Make do with the best of what is left. Thompson took himself out of the race even before a single closed primary had occurred. If Thompson wanted it, which, with his mother in the situation she is in and his need for more funding, he would have tried to leave open a door for us to peek in.
He didn’t, so don’t throw the vote away. I wanted Thompson, too, but I’m not stupid.
I’ll likely vote Romney, even though I have issues with him. But that is not a wasted vote if it helps get a a guy who goes up against the Democrat, and wins.
At least we have a chance to have a “non-terrible” president in Romney.
The RNC hasn’t gotten the message with all the fake Jorge Boosh pesos they’ve received.
So, writing in Fred Thompson isn’t going to do anything either.
After all, Thompson didn’t even run for the White House. He just sort of strolled — for a while. And then quit.
[If he endorses McCain, which is very probably, as they have been good friends for a long time, Fred will truly have earned the nickname McCain-lite.]
Very interesting!
But schtupid!
Incredibly excellent advice.
Don’t expect the democrat enablers on the forum to take his lying down though.
Yes. Write in Hunter instead.

“I see the usual squalling from the power over principle, lesser of two evils, youve got nowhere else to go but the GOP crowd is here in force. Amazingly enough, I intend to ignore them as being the major part of the problem, and contributing nothing to a solution.” —Bill Quick
