“Incredibly stupid advice.”
Agreed. Supporting someone in the race is our right. Voting for someone who isn’t running any longer is just giving it to MCCAIN!!!!

Vote your conscience, because voting for ‘electibility’ is a proven failure.

It is a message that says I'm willing to waste my time in order to make an infantile point.

Incredibly stupid advice. As a Thompson supporter, I agree. No one remembers "messages" sent. What's remembered is who becomes president.

Possible short term pain for possible long term gain.

There is one good reason to write in Fred in a general election: it will enable you to make Ted Kennedy, Osama Obama (as Kennedy once called him), John Edwards, Soros, and all the other libs very happy.
Or you could stay home and sulk, which would have the same effect.

Do you even need to write in his last name, or just write “FRed”? They’ll know who we’re talking about, right?

I have a better idea. Vote for Mitt Romney and keep John McCain from getting the nomination.
Even if one was going to write in a candidate - why pick Fred Thompson? Write in “Ronald Reagan” if the intent is just a protest vote.
To: docbnj
Romney, Rudy, McCain or Huck will make the libs happy too.

Bush wasn’t exactly the smartest person in the world or the most conservative but he was heaps better than any democrat and I’m glad that he’s in charge instead of Gore or Kerry.
