The drop in oil is due to recession fears, not talks. Most people forget it is a commodity and traded as such. No amount of talk will ever change the price, only supply/demand/emotion.

Ted Kennedy endorses Obama, and CNN is calling this a huge surprise! does anyone think that Caroline would have gone public without talking to Uncle Ted? Come on! Kennedy has been fighting the Clinton ascendancy forever. Remember how he endorsed Kerry in 04 - absolutely to claim some control on the “leadership” of the Dem party.

The FNC has a new blond.

She was just following the old MSM template that mccain is a “mainstreamer”.

IOW a DBM daaarling.

The template is out.

Ask conservative pundits about obama, democrats only praise McCain.

Polls mean nothing now. GW was down to Gore/Kerry by 20pts now, both times. We need to elect the best Conservative and InSane ain’t it.

Romney plays very poorly outside the GOP. You can't win if the independents don't like you.

Yeah, you're right. It was all those Republicans in Masschusetts who elected him Governor. LOL!

It’d be poetic justice if many stayed home and it cost Hillary the Presidency.

Did you hear the ad for the State of the Union? The one that says “President Clinton’s State of the Union address....”?

It just must be force of habit. The MSM always endlessly refers to Bubba as "President Clinton" and the other one, the illegal President, as "Mr. Bush"!

Outside of JFK’s dad “buying” the election in West Virginia, nearly every one of JFK’s election speeches hit on the “missile gap” between the USA and the CCCP, re-enforcing the image of Nixon as the shady character of the televised debate,
add to that Ike’s refusal to endorse his own two term vice president.

OMG!

Juan Williams just said that Rush Limbaugh is Republican Establishment, Gov Crist and Sen Mel Martinez are not.

How inverted can this pundit’s brain be?

According to NPR's world view, and therefore Juan's, the Republican leadership is all Conservatives.  McCain, Martinez and Crist are not conservatives, therefore they're not part of "the establishment."

He also believes in global warming, without any question or debate.  All he needs is faith in the Goracle.

Now, if you change his statement to "Rush Limbaugh is Conservative Establishment, Gov Crist and Sen Mel Martinez are not" then he'd be exactly right.

McCain, Crist and Martinez (and a list of suck up Republicans) are the RINO establishment.

We are fighting for the soul of our party.  Right now the RINOs think that they are in the ascendant, with the help of their allies in the drive by media.

I have little to no confidence in those polls.

I get that all the time from FReepers when the results are not to their liking. But the fact is that the polls have good predictive value. Not perfect, but a hell of a lot better than individual instincts.

A lot of it is name recognition

Sometimes, but the fact remains that Mitt has plenty of name recognition. Look how well he was known in NH, much of which gets Boston TV. Yet he did not do well there.

alot of it is the pollsters wanting to shape opinion, not just reflect it.

If that were the case, the polls would not correspond to each other so well. All the pollsters would not want to shape opinion the same way. Some have R clients, some D clients and personal agendas differ too.

I agree that Mitt is extremely smart and scandal-free, and I really like Ann. But I don't want him as the nominee because I find his sudden conservatism phony and have no confidence that he can win.

If he is nominated, I will support him. I will support the GOP nominee, whoever he is.
