New York Times ^ | 01/27/2008 | Caroline Kennedy

Posted on 01/26/2008 6:44:42 PM PST by steadcom

OVER the years, I’ve been deeply moved by the people who’ve told me they wished they could feel inspired and hopeful about America the way people did when my father was president. This sense is even more profound today. That is why I am supporting a presidential candidate in the Democratic primaries, Barack Obama...

Well, partly because of Obama. He’s a damn good speaker. We don’t have one of those right now.

Very true. I was referring to his credentials and experience, which are basically nil. His packaging and the MSM's compliance have made more of him than is really there.

He is an extraordinary speaker, has exquisite timing, and excellent presentation. Very charismatic.

"What does this (knock against Hillary) tell us?"

It tells us that there's room for only one Royal Family in this country.....and it ain't the Clintons and it ain't the Bushes.....it's the Kennedys.....and the Princess Margaret of the clan is not hesitant to remind the country of this.....and don't anyone forget this edict.....or it's to the Tower with you.

Naw, people just “dissension among the dykes.” They can be vicious to each other.... To top off the stupidity, Tammy is also Jewish, and supporting a guy whose middle name is Hussein really puzzles me.

If the Kennedys are “royal,” I’m the Queen Mother. Caroline is more like the Princess Anne of the Kennedys.

Negative campaigning and the politics of personal destruction are the ONLY ways the Clintons know how to campaign.

That is why they are having trouble with him. He is trying to take the high road, which is a hard thing to tear down.

It is WAR to them, and they have now declared it on fellow DEMOCRATS. The Dems are now seeing them the way the GOP has for years, as they are turning their wrath on their own Party.

That is what worries me. If he succeeds, the dems will be aligned behind new leadership with no negatives, new ideas, and huge popularity.

If he fails, the Clinton's have damaged the party badly, and will have caused no end of internal strife. Much easier to beat (though I don't think we'll beat them anyway).

"...Revenge for the Clinton sabotage of her brothers plane?..."

C'mon ASA, Junior was just a bad pilot. Most of us who screwed-up flying as bad as he did finally remember our instructor's lesson - "See how the plane flys itself".

All civilian light-aircraft have to be dynamically-stable, and if the pilot just lets-go of the controls, the plane will right itself to the last trim settings.

With the auto-pilot he had on board, he could have dialed himself out of the bad weather he flew into, but he didn't! He augered that sucker into the water at nearly top speed .............. FRegards

The media is totally in the tank for John McCain. They were in 2000, but the GOP didn’t buy it. But Republicans were much stronger then.

It won't matter. He will not succeed.

Oh, we would beat Hillary like a drum provided the GOP nominee is not McCain. Obama would be tougher, but there are still a load of peole who would not want to see a black in the WH, or a woman, for that matter. However, I do not clasify Hillary as a woman, and she and her sicko husband are destroying the Democrat Party.. which may be a GOOD thing.

I know some also....it’s mind boggling. But then look at Britain...the country has lost its natural instinct for self-preservation. I absolutely don’t get it.

Dems have fallen out of love with the Clintons - they’ve moved on so to speak... It’s about time.

Many Jews I know hate Republicans more than the terrorists. I tell them “why, we don’t want to kill you.” They just look at me blankly, and then start screaming about how they hate Republicans... Go figure. Is is a secret death wish?

“This guy is scaring me.” The one comparison that came to mind was with Hitler.

That really surprises me. I figured she’d go for McCain. Although obviously socially liberal, she veered to the right on immigration and the war. McCain loves open borders but is tough on the WOT, something Tammy was all gung ho about.

I would have been surprised if she had said something good and decent. Does anyone expect anything other than leftist nonsense to come form any member of the Kennedy family?

Mr. Ultra liberal Obama is the next President.

If he goes up against Romney it will be a pretty even match.

I disagree. The base is factionalized and there is no candidate able to pull it all together. Also, the party is stone broke, and no money is going to come pouring in without a candidate that can generate enthusiasm.

Be optimistic, but let's be real.

"..What does this tell us?"

For one thing, they don't like Hillary.

A lot of people are going out of their way to endorse Barack Obama. These people know the Clintons have long memories, so there is some risk for them.
