The Epic Collapse of Rudy Giuliani
POLITICAL LORE.COM ^ | 26 JANUARY 2008 | POLITICAL LORE

Posted on 01/26/2008 5:31:02 PM PST by Extremely Extreme Extremist

In four days, on the night of January 29th , Rudy Giuliani will know the fate of his political career. The Republican Presidential candidate and former Mayor of New York City is pushing all of his chips into the middle on the state of Florida. Anything but a first place finish will for all intents and purposes end the former frontrunner’s chance at the Republican nomination. Just two short months ago Giuliani led Florida by a full 20 percentage points over Mitt Romney, but as of today Giuliani trails McCain and Romney by an average of about 5%. This represents a 25 percent nosedive in the polls.

So what the hell happened? This is the man that cleaned up the capital of the western world and bravely helped his city recover after the devastating attacks of September 11th. Well, what happened was the voters began to pay attention. While Rudy was enjoying the perks that come with being the GOP front-runner, the rest of the candidates were busy carving out their niche in the election by championing an issue to give their campaign a distinguished voice. Mitt Romney is the accomplished venture capitalist with business savvy and mannequin good looks. McCain presented himself as the war hero who will not let the troops come home, this makes him “tough on terror.” Mike Huckabee branded himself the “Christian Leader” and has tried to keep a cross hovering over his shoulder as often as possible. Fred Thompson was the champion of gun rights who honed his political wit on the set of Law and Order and Law and Order: SVU. Ron Paul has gone against the grain by telling the American people the truth and he is the Champion of the Constitution.

Rudy’s issue became not cleaning up crime in New York City, but simply holding the title of mayor at the time of the September 11th attacks. The majority of the American people have yet to make the connection of how that would make him a great President and I don’t see it either. Even Tancredo made a name for himself with immigration.

Then just as the American people began to realize that Rudy didn’t have an issue the scandals began to roll in one after another, and they would not go away. Bernard Kerik, Giuliani’s former driver who worked his way up to New York City’s police chief under the close tutelage of Mayor Rudy, was indicted on Federal corruption charges. This scandal single handedly exposed Giuliani’s lack of judgment when making important decisions because Giuliani not only promoted Kerik to Police Chief but he also recommended him for Director of Homeland Security. The American people began to worry that if Rudy’s right hand man was facing a laundry list of federal indictments, then what would his eventual Presidential cabinet would be a nightmare.

The Kerik scandal was just one of many scandals to plague Rudy’s campaign. Others included having New York City’s finest walk his mistress’s dog, allowing his law firm to do business with sworn enemies of the United States…the list goes on and on.

And this is not to mention that the man suffers from uncontrollable giggling fits. He has been heard giggling during important moments of GOP Presidential debates. He also giggled his way through most of an extremely important Meet the Press interview. The general feeling towards Rudy after such pathetic performances was pity and embarrassment because nobody enjoys watching a man publicly self destruct.

But don’t feel too bad for the guy he will always have the lecture circuit and quite honestly, I think we will be more comfortable there. He will also get a chance to catch up on his reading.

He’s probably referring to some of the memos said to be exchanged within the Giuliani camp. 425,000 or so absentee and early votes are already in hand, which is thought to be a third of ALL votes going to be cast. Talk is that Giuliani has a significant lead in these votes. Obviously, the quesion is how much of a “head start” will these votes give him and will it be enough to “hold on”...magritte

You can count on one thing:

Rudy is a loser. So, Rudy will lose.

The press loves Rudy. Tina Fey and the rest of the liberals on SNL love Rudy. It was LIBERAL DEMOCRATS who voted for Rudy in the first place (being that NYC Republicans can basically fit in an East Village studio).

So, you still think that this greasy Lawn Guyland cream puff is still a "tough guy" do you not?

Rudy 911 is done. Stick a fork in him.

The trick is to work the retirement homes and "help" the residents fill their absentee ballots. Money in the bank.

I hear ya. This whole election has been disappointing
(ever since RINOs McCain, Giuliani, and Schwarzenegger headlined the 2004 convention).
Rockyfellers never give up.

400,000 early voting and absentees are all Rudy’s.

All of them? 100%? If so, I would demand a recount. ;-)

That’s always possible, PLUS a large percentage of the “early” votes are supposedly first-time voters, ones that did not vote in the 2004 and 2006 primaries...very hard to account for in polling...magritte

he’s not an abortionist.

You mean he has never personally torn a child limb from limb because he doesn't have a medical license.

He doesn’t interfere w/anyone’s choice.

He doesn't interfere with anyone' choice to do what? Do you think that maybe, possibly ripping the arms and legs off a child and crushing his skull might interfere with the victim's choice?

And neither does God, we have a choice to do His will or our own. Rudy didn’t make the laws.

Abortion-killing is the antithesis of law. It is the removal of the equal protection of laws from a whole class of human beings, and Rudy approves of the anarchy.

He doesn’t demonstrate hate towards any person.

He certainly displays indifference to mothers and children brutalized by abortion-killing, doesn't he? He certainly has no objection to seeing more of it, and having taxpayers pay for it, does he? With friends like that, who needs enemies?

Love the person, hate the sin. Those people will come around quicker w/love but never by condemnation. And that’s biblical.

And since when is it the duty of government to love the person and hate the sin, and never condemn? Haven't you ever read Romans 13?

Cordially,

Even if Rudy had, there would still be posters on FR shilling for him.

Do you know how dumb that sounds? If you understood his strategy then you’d understand how I know they are his. Take some time and look into it, you might learn something. You also might take some time to see who the REAL DIRTY TRICKSTER is in this race.

It goes to show certain things are expected of candidates and certain hoops that have to be jumped through. Rudy has been around long enough to know better.

Lighten up, lady.

It's statistically impossible that he got 100% of early voters--get it?

You probably need a secret decoder ring. Save your boxtops.

Rooty discovered after 14 years of marriage that his wife was his cousin.

I guess Rooty didn’t “get it’ when the wife called his parents “aunt” and “uncle.”
