Because McCain would be an easy opponent for Hillary just as Dole was for Bill.
To: John Jorsett

Brian Williams announced it to everyone at the debate, so the whole of Florida now knows that the NYSlimes has endorsed McCain. What a kiss of death!
I didnt watch the debate. How did Brian Williams say it? Did he think it was a good thing? Or was this simple factual commenting on his part? Could you tell?

“Or was this simple factual commenting on his part? Could you tell?”
It was factual commenting and he then went on to ask McCain a question, forget what it was.

"They want McCain because they believe that Shrillery will beat him like a rug."Well, either that or if McCain did happen to beat the democrat, who would notice the difference? The endorsed him because they like him, which is scary enough in and of itself.
Actually, the first thing I though when I saw the title New York Times Endorses McCain, Clinton, I thought "as a ticket?".
That's sad.
To: JustaDumbBlonde
Oh, God no, please do not put these two on one ticket.

Mexican newspapers are supporting the same candiates. And the terrorist detainees' weekly in-house JIHAD JOURNAL is also endorsing them. Al Jazeera, however, prefers Hussein Obama.

A Republican getting the endorsement of the NY Times is like a Democrat getting the endorsement of Dick Cheney.
