McLean, VA - Senator Fred Thompson today issued the following statement about his campaign for President:
"Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people."
Worst day of the primary campaign. Hunter gone. Fred gone. Snow White and the four dwalves left—Preachy, Crazy, Changey, and Rinoey. And the best we have to choose from are Changey and Snow White himself?
Say it ain’t so Fred, say it ainb’t so.
Thanks Fred, for elevating the campaign. Good luck with whatever is next, hopefully a vice prez slot with Snow.
You two have done great work on behalf of a great cause. Thank you.
Thompson is a class act! We need more like him. Unfortunately now, it is no doubt too late to find another soon enough to put in the White House next year.
Thanks for keeping us all informed during Fred’s campaign. I dreaded this day, but I kind of saw it coming. It’s been a long time since I’ve had such enthusiasm for a candidate, and I don’t think I’m going to have it again anytime soon. It was nice to think about being able to cast a vote for a candidate for a change, instead of voting against the greater of two evils.
I guess I’ll have to go look for that old clothes pin I use at election time.
Please read my tagline. We have a noble and very important job to do.
Lmao!!!! And I will toast to you!!!! GO RINO’S GO!!!!!!!
.
'96 was pretty bad also, once Phil Gramm dropped out.
I will match my conservatism against yours anyday. If you support anyone in the race now you, my friend, are not a conservative but an appeaser. Just ask some Germans from WW2 what happen if you just go along to get along. You are just as guilty of the wreck as if you were driving.
>>We will not be voting for anyone in November. We will be voting against Hillary<<
Which is no different than the liberals’ 2004 “Anyone but Bush” mantra. It’s not a principled vote made in good conscience to simply for for someone because of who they’re not.
Well damn, there went the LAST conservative in the race.
Now all that’s left are 4 RINO’s and a surrender monkey.
I wish you well Fred. Hope you mom recovers quickly.
Sorry to see things turn out this way. All the best to your family.

Thank you for your hard work.
I’m with you on everyone voting on the same day. Saturday would be great. No selling of alchohol though until the polls are closed.
I don’t agree with protest voting. The future of our country is at stake.
RUMSFELD: "You go to war with the army you have, not with the army you want!"
Good day!
Above all, the Supreme Court must finally become truly conservative. If that means a vote for Romney, so be it. I think he would appoint conservative judges.
Many conservatives are finished voting "against".
The "party" system, George Washington warned us against is about to implode in the next few years.
Waaaaahhhhhh!
I’d vote for Romney over McCain or Huckabee, though.
And I’d vote for ANY of them over Clinton or Obama.
