You let your own biases cloud your judgment. If you had any gift for handicapping the race, Duncan Hunter would be on top of the world right now. Sing us a song, Antoninus...
Hunter could have won if enough Republicans actually voted our consciences. I never said he was going to win--I always knew it would be a million-to-one shot. But supporting a fine, upstanding veteran like him was worth every second of it--and worth all the fecal matter thrown at me by freaks and idiots tonight.
Better a million-to-one shot than Flip Romney any day.

Romney will also put all of the South in play.... a losing proposition for any RepublicanDo you think for a second that Hillary has a shot at winning any Southern state? I surely do not.

I think the GOP is currently hemorrhaging voters as a result of the border issue. That makes no sense at all. Where are Tancredo, Hunter, and now Thompson? How the hell did McCain take a southern state with an illegal alien problem?
At least as a Democrat, I have a chance to vote against the most odious of them in the primaries.
That's just plain silly.

".....it looks so very likely Thompson's people (will) go to Romney........"
But, but, but....for two weeks the know-alls and propangandists on these threads have vehemently averred to us that Thompson will drop out, endorse McManiac and his supporters will go there.
My fingers got worn out typing post after post that this will not happen.
You took a great risk opining what you did. I hope you're still breathing after your statement above.
Hello, hello.....are you still there, my friend? Are you okay?......hello?.....hello....hello........?

You are dead wrong. We need norther appeal to win. Last two were too close for me.
How do you figure? The GOP needs the south to win. With Romney, the South is no longer the base. With a guy like Romney, pretty much all the red states are in play except Utah.

Some of us voted for Fred because he ALSO is a conservative, we had to choose one or the other, at least one with more chance of winning.
Duncan is a great guy, but news didn’t get out about him.

The comment I was answering was that every person over 70 should not be allowed to vote. Wasn’t talking about the age of McCain. Don’t care how old he is - wouldn’t want him for president at any age.

Well I am dyslexic but I do believe I read this right! And where, in any of those posts, does it indicate she went to the hospital TODAY?

Oh, I’m still voting Republican....just not for liberals like Slick Willard.
Sorry to disappoint you.

Totally agree. Just a matter of where we get screwed the most. Immigration, Defence, Taxes,
All part of the master plan to purple the nation.
To: texastoo
Correction......
Can’t support him now or in November.

So far McCain is 0 for 2 in closed primary states....actually Nevada and Wyoming were closed caucus states. Florida is closed, and that will be very telling as to how this will be going.
Freepers who have spent so much effort to play along with the media in trashing Romney, may very well end up with McCain!

I understand and yes, he has maintained much in the face of the storm, but the shamnesty thing dissolved the glue. My biggest problem has been his seeming naivete on Islam and those inside our country he chose as the representatives thereof, which I tried to discount for a very long time. I tried to defend his lack of the use of the veto pen as a necessity to maintain votes for war funding. Maybe some of these things will need time and stepping back from. We’ll see.
