Supposedly Gerry asked for too much. Can’t blame RWR for refusing. And he did end up winning.

“40% of Florida has already voted?”

I think this number could be low. I am in a very republican part of the state and the local poll workers told me that over 30% had voted by Wednesday.

“Exit polls show the senile old people about to kick the bucket put McCain over the top. They seriously need to ban voting for anybody over 70.”

Why don’t we just kill everyone over 70, or let’s make it 60, or 50, or everyone who doesn’t believe like we do? Sarcasm, of course. You will become 70 some day IF YOU’RE LUCKY.

If McCain is the Republican nominee, FRed would endorse him. I don’t think anyone can say the same with any certainty about the other way...and, yes, they are friends. So, is loyalty a one-way street?

If he is not the Republican nominee, McCain will try to be the Demonrat VP candidate just as he did before.

Meh...I have to unplug my ‘puter. Bad electrical storm...my battery is not the best.

And the PC political strategy will land you the candidate you don’t want in the white house no matter who wins, RINOS or HIllary.

The answer is to support your conviction to the end, and if that conviction does not work out become more involved in the issues as they come up, great example being the Amnesty battle during the summer. We had no help from our side then if you recall.

Do those two things and you can sleep at night!

“do you think we might be headed for a third party if McCain is nominated?”

I think the chance of that is far less than if we had a nominee like Rudy, but some people will never vote for McCain. He might be able to make up for that with independent votes, which Hillary won’t pick up but Obama could. We might be facing the possibility of a Republican nominee, and a Republican president, that most Republicans don’t want. People will have to weigh the pros and cons of a 3rd party very carefully, given that even now he has a 68% ACU rating. This isn’t a pro-choice, anti-gun, pro-gay, big government candidate like Rudy Giuliani.

GWB has been a disaster and is the biggest reason HRC is headed back to DC, one year from tomorrow.

Sorry, but you can't lay the blame for this on the President. Maybe you haven't noticed, but GWB is far more conservative than the rest of the Republican party, as this vote tonight shows.

It should have been a tip how liberal this country is when GWB only beat that POS Kerry by 2%

Mark my words, you will wish for the days of GWB in the future....a man that stood up for his principles regardless of who didn't like it, who kept this nation safe. Pro-life, tax cuts, strong military, kicking the shiite out of jihadis, conservative judges, immaculate personal conduct...the list goes on and on.

The reason for his trashing on FR lay in his support for comprehesive immigration reform. Wait till you see what McCain and the Dems have in store for us in 2009. I'll give you a hint....go look at the first Senate version of the immigration bill.

“I heard 35% as of yesterday. They started voting Monday.
It wouldn’t surprise me at all if it’s not 40%.
My sister said the polls have been busy.”

Was that 35%-40% of ALL voters or just Republican? I also know there have been many, many Republicans who have voted early for Fred too. So, how anyone can think that Guiliani has Florida in his pocket I don’t understand.

Bork doesn’t believe the second amendment is an individual right. His endorsement makes the endorsee more suspect, IMO.

2008 is all about SCOTUS. Judge Bork endorsed someone whom he knows will appoint conservative judges. Look for this election to be the dirtiest in American history, imho.

We may very well have to get a RINO like McCain in the Oval office before we can get another man with the godly, strong, conservative principles of Ronald Reagan.

Horrible but necessary. History may well repeat itself.

a) The GWB years (2001-2008) = Nixon + Ford

b) The "HillaryMcRino" (whoever wins) years (2009-2012) = a Carter-like, economy-wrecking one-term Presidency.

c) 2012 Election = 1980 Election.

The Conservative movement might just need to recharge and find a real candidate for 2012. The sooner, the better.

P.S. Mark Sanford might be ready to run in 4 years.

I agree. Romney puts MI and other rust belt states in play. There is a lot less religious bigotry up there. I doubt he looses the south even though there is a more down here. He can win FL it will be tough but he can do it.

Romney will also put all of the South in play.... a losing proposition for any Republican.

Face it, a liberal Yankee Republican is NOT going to win the presidency, whether his name is Rudy or Flip.
