...You can hear it in Limbaughs voice and see it in his face. He badly wants to throw the full weight of conservatism behind that candidate. He so desperately wants to that his teeth probably hurt. Hes waiting, waiting for someone to take the lead. Get noticed. Hes waiting for someone to give him the go ahead to cream the opposition.
You can hear the excitement in Rushs voice when he talks about the South Carolina primary. Its The Passion. The passion of conservatism emerging when he talks about that primary. Why, you ask? Because, for the first time since the primaries have begun, conservative Republicans will be voting for fellow conservative Republicans...
...Rush Limbaugh believes in conservatism. Its engrained in his soul. He introduced me to it, and now its engrained in my soul. I can recognize it like a tick on a white dog. Its as obvious as that.
I recognize it in Senator Fred Thompson, and so does Rush Limbaugh. Hes hinted, hes implied, and hes even begged conservatives to see what he sees in Fred Thompson. He sees conservatism, the same kind of conservatism he saw in Ronald Reagan. He doesnt want long, bloated policy. He wants simple, effervescent conservatism for Americans to unfold before their very eyes...

What are you listening to?
Rush has been through several Presidential Primary seasons. He has always said he will NOT officially endorse anyone in the primaries. His only exception to this was his joking endorsement of Buchanan once, I think before the NH primary, but that was done in order to goad Bush 41. He will endorse the Republican candidate over the Democrat when it comes to the General Election. How much support he’ll give depends on the candidate.
Thanks for the excerpt. Very informative. But the way he attacks McCain is so marshmallow soft when McCain is ten times more liberal than Huck.
I can be like that in terms of articulateness. It comes from practice. Churchill used to say his speeches over and over out loud. The funny thing is that he also practiced, out loud, his “extemporaneous” responses to likely questions, attacks, perspectives expressed and the like. Many good trial lawyers spend a lot of time talking to themselves. It works.
I am convinced Rush, as he has said, is ok with three of the candidates. If he were to throw his support behind any one of them now, and they don’t get the nomination, then the nominee would be the 2nd choice and would be damaged. Rush is right to wait until after the nominee is chosen to throw his support to that one so as to give him the BEST possible chance to beat Hilary or Obama.
Well, let us know what the news is. Can’t imagine what it could be . . .
Thanks for all you do! ...magritte
What Fred said was he was going to “Shock the World” with his economic policy. It was during one of his speeches in South Carolina. Not what I thought it was going to be and the news got it wrong again. They made it seem like he had some major statement to make...Ugh!!!
You apparently don't listen to Rush.
bump for later reading
That’s okay. Thanks for getting back to us.
Perhaps you’re right about Mitt just speaking that way — but it still sounds manufactured. It doesn’t help that he lacks a bit of credibility on conservative issues because of his tenure in Mass.
I could likely vote for Mitt if he was nominated — though I think I could probably vote for most of these guys with my conscience intact. I like something about each candidate — and dislike things about each (except possibly Thompson, who I have trouble disliking at all).
I like Giuliani and McCain on national security issues, I like Huckabee on social issues, and I lean toward Mitt on fiscal issues. But, they all have GLARING weaknesses as well.
Thompson’s my candidate in the primary because I like him in ALL three areas — fiscal, social and national defense.

Darn...thanks for the update though!
Now I can go cook dinner.
That's just not true. In the May 15, 2007 Republican debate, he stated he favors "an assault weapons ban." Last month on meet the press, he said he "would have supported the original (1994) assault weapons ban." There is no EXISTING assault weapons ban, so he favors a change in law.
Wow, another misrepresentation, big surprise. A "distant fouth" huh? He's tied with Romney for third. Learn how to read a poll.
BOTTOMLINE HUCKAFRAUD MUST BE BEATEN
Giuliani has been PUSHING in FL
kook paul has been very pushing in FL. (he even has a BLIMP)
It is hard to see how anyone will trump Giuliani.
What I see as the best case scenario is only IF (big IF) Thompson pulls off South Carolina so that when Feb 5 rolls around, it is still wide open.
If Huckabee wants to retain his 'pure and clean as the wind driven snow' reputation, he needs to get out there and demand that the folks doing the push polling for him STOP telling LIES about the other candidates. And the lie about Fred supporting partial birth abortion is not only an egregious one, but easily disproved, if one wants to check it out. Unfortunately, many of Huck's supporters seem to be accepting what is said in his behalf, because a preacher wouldn't lie about such things, would he?
Thompson’s chances are far more viable than Hunter’s fiasco of a campaign.
That said, How is McCain anywhere on this race.
Huckable is just using ID politics to have people “touch the TeeeVeee.”
