...You can hear it in Limbaughs voice and see it in his face. He badly wants to throw the full weight of conservatism behind that candidate. He so desperately wants to that his teeth probably hurt. Hes waiting, waiting for someone to take the lead. Get noticed. Hes waiting for someone to give him the go ahead to cream the opposition.
You can hear the excitement in Rushs voice when he talks about the South Carolina primary. Its The Passion. The passion of conservatism emerging when he talks about that primary. Why, you ask? Because, for the first time since the primaries have begun, conservative Republicans will be voting for fellow conservative Republicans...
...Rush Limbaugh believes in conservatism. Its engrained in his soul. He introduced me to it, and now its engrained in my soul. I can recognize it like a tick on a white dog. Its as obvious as that.
I recognize it in Senator Fred Thompson, and so does Rush Limbaugh. Hes hinted, hes implied, and hes even begged conservatives to see what he sees in Fred Thompson. He sees conservatism, the same kind of conservatism he saw in Ronald Reagan. He doesnt want long, bloated policy. He wants simple, effervescent conservatism for Americans to unfold before their very eyes...

Its getting to where if you really believe the important thing is to stop McCain, you almost have to hope Huckabee can beat him. But then you have Huckabee as a winner. Not good, not good at all.
This reminds me of the “we need Rudy because he can beat Hillary in the general election and we need to stop Hillary”. Now Hillary may not even be the nominee. I think if we would all just vote for the candidate who most closely matches our own views on the all the issues, we would all be way better off.
You may be able to smell the imposters. I doubt you can “smell” the honest Christians though! Your “living with Christians” is sort of like saying you slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night. You are implying that Huckabee’s Christianity is a sham. Big “leap of faith” for you there. You don’t like the guy and he’s a tough politician, so he must be faking his faith. 1 + 1 = 5
And saying those of us who believe Huck isn’t a conservative have IQs less than broccoli isn’t? Get real. Huck is a very confused individual.
There is a difference between being a Christian and stating such and using Christianity to garner votes (and pander to voters).

Nod. Then again, the other candidates screwed up by not appealing to what appears to be 25% of the primary voters. No surprise they went with the guy that extended his hand.

Correctamundo. He’s a sham. I invite you to take a closer look as well.

I just heard that Fred is going to give some shocking statement or something that is supposed to totally blow his campaign to immediate front. I wonder what it is...After the commercial I will find out.
The McCain-Fiengold support was the main reason I supported Hunter throughout this; simple fact is though that Hunter can’t compete any longer after being frozen out of the debates. Conservatives need to get their act together so that our candidates don’t get pushed to the side EVERY 4 years. That said, Fred’s the best choice for conservatives now. The National Review, Ann Coulter, all New Yorkers . . . they just don’t see what I do in terms of the negatives for Romney among evangelicals. Coulter is a Presbyterian, relatively conservative congregation, but it’s still New York City. Romney’s is a losing candidacy even if he gets the nod from the Republican party in my opinion.
Actually it already is being studied. The electorate has gone insane.
That is true. Apparently Fred is going to make some major statement on the news. I am going to find out here in a few.
Who’s the confused individual?
Unlike Fred, Huckabee supports elimination of the IRS, a marriage amendment, and also has clearly stated immigration policy that’s received the endorsement of founder of the Minuteman Project...
Huckabee doesnt support McCain-Feingold..Thompson VOTED for it...
Look..we know you guys are going to start on the “Huckabee raised taxes” bit...and how Reagan NEVER raised taxes..right??
Those who forget history..are doomed to repeat it..
—Reagan RAISED taxes by over a billion dollars while Gov of California...
—Reagan in 1982 raised taxes that undid about 1/3 of the 1981 tax cut..
—Reagan also signed in 1986 the Social Security “Reform” Act..which significantly raised the payroll tax...
I love Reagan and his legacy as much anyone..but to say that Reagan never raised taxes just isn’t supported by the facts....
It appears that this year, I don’t know if it’s the size of the field or the compression of the primaries, but I think alot of them are picking and choosing where to campaign, spend money, etc.....
Some of us find the fact that Fred Thompson doesn’t appear to have a personal desire to be President very refreshing. Even though Reagan ran a couple of times, he didn’t appear to want to be President either, maybe it’s an ego thing.
Fred is laid back and mostly conservative. He’s no Reagan, but nobody is. I hope he prevails and plan to vote for him in the FL primary based on issues, not personality. I hope South Carolinians do the same thing in the end.
Perhaps the pollsters are being purposely misled!?!
Early voting is the stupidest concept ever!
Expensive and doesn’t increase turnout, plus in a presidential primary, we don’t get the candidates.
Perhaps we can ban it through a citizen’s initiative?
Riiight. That's why he's been on the road, non-stop, since announcing in September.
The guy has been a voice of conservatism for 20 years, sometimes a lone voice, and he has no thoughts and feelings?
Having listened to him for over ten years; He sure doesn't leave me with that impression.
I think you have covered my feelings too.
I have had three Rudy calls today, one for a rally in Titusville, . Somebody is working!
Um..sorry SuziQ..but no..Fred hasn’t “been on the road, non-stop” since announcing in September..
Before the last two weeks leading up to the Iowa Caucuses...Thompson made all of 4 visits to Iowa between September and December 07...
Thompson has had a poorly organized grassroots organization in Iowa and elsewhere in this race...and it showed in the results..3rd in Iowa..6th in New Hampshire...5th in Michigan....
Mitt is not my first choice, but my reservations have nothing to do with his polish. Some people just speak that way, complete with punctuation. No ums, errs, sentence fragments. Even complex sentences with a parenthetical thought inserted comes out grammatically pristine. I know a couple people like that. I think Mitt is one of them. It's an amazing experience to converse with them.
