HUCK GETS TOUGH ON IMMIGRATION
Nealz Nuze ^ | January 17, 2008 | Neal Boortz

Posted on 01/17/2008 7:45:08 AM PST by Turret Gunner A20

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee says that he is going to get tough on illegal immigrants. He has signed a pledge to enforce immigration laws and to make all illegal aliens go home. Huckabee has also pledged to oppose a so-called "path to citizenship" for current illegals. Apparently he has a nine-point plan to accomplish this goal. If so .. good for him. Let's get that puppy implemented as soon as possible. I just love reading stories about illegals crossing the border ... heading South. As they say ... don't let the doorknob hit ya!

Now we just know what's going to happen next, don't we? The apologists for illegal immigration and Hispanic race pimps are going to yell bloody murder if Huckabee actually starts implementing such a plan. The question is, how in the world can you get the criminal aliens (and if they're here illegally, they're criminals) to go home without giving the pro-illegal activists something to scream about, and at the same time denying the race pimps the opportunity to start squealing about racial profiling?

Here's a plan. I think it's an excellent one. It is not original with me. I've just cobbled together a few ideas and concepts from a few different sources. I've covered this before in the Nuze ... but being the repetitive sort .. here we go again.

Step 1. Enact harsh penalties against employers who knowingly or carelessly hire illegals. If a simple mistake was made, the penalty is low. If the illegal hiring was clearly intentional or through premeditated negligence, the penalty is harsh ... up to and including having your business shut down. The object here is to deny jobs to people who are in this country illegally.
Step 2. Deny all but emergency services to people who are in this country illegally. This includes no driver's licenses. Illegals also would not be allowed to enroll in any college or university that receives government money.
Step 3. Pass federal laws, or amend the Constitution if need be, to deny citizenship status to babies born to mothers in this country illegally.

OK .. at this point you have the illegals heading home. They can't work. They can only get basic emergency services. The surroundings become decidedly unfriendly, and they go home.

But wait! Realistically we all know that there are many American industries that need these people to work. No problem. The second phase of this solution sets up a guest worker program .. so here are the next steps:

Step 4. Issue guest worker cards to foreign nationals who wish to come to the United States to work on a temporary basis. These guest worker cards can ONLY be issued by U.S. authorities in the countries in which the guest workers were born or of which they are citizens. No guest worker cards will be issued in the U.S.
Step 5. Establish a network of government-licensed staffing agencies. These staffing agencies will be established solely to handle the demand for guest workers. An employer will place an order with the agency for a specific number of workers with specific skills for a specific period of time. The agency will then work through it's counterpart in Mexico or elsewhere to arrange for the needed workers and to deliver them to the employer for the work.
Step 6. Either the agency or the employer will be responsible for housing for the temporary workers, as well as for any emergency medical services that may be needed. Step 7. The temporary worker will be paid by the agency, not by the employer. The agency will bill the employer for all costs and will pay the temporary worker from the money received by the employer. There will be severe penalties for any business or individual who makes a direct payment to a temporary worker or an illegal alien outside of the agency regime.
Step 8. When the temporary work assignment is over there are no more payments made to the temporary worker. The worker is provided transportation back from whence he came. If he elects to try to stay in the country illegally ... where's he going to work? Besides ... staying here illegally results in the permanent revocation of his temporary worker card.

Anyone have any problems with this plan? Any candidate is welcome to pick it up and run with it. I make no claim to originality. If you listened to my show you would realize that.

I was listening to Laura Ingraham talking with Center for Immigration Studies Mark Krikorian yesterday . Huckabee claims Krikorian devised his ‘immigration’ policy for him. Mark said he had been contacted by several people and wrote up a brief ‘what had to be done list’, by no means a complete policy that was published some time ago.

Huckabee simply took that article, added little to it and implied Mark and Huck worked out this new ‘policy’. Mark has never worked with or endorsed Huck. Never.
His supporters made it sound like CIS had worked with him on this and thereby endorsed him for Pres.

Krikorian says, [Well, at least he credited me with writing it]

Cool clips (Laura365)
NEW! Mark Kirkorian on the immigration issue.(pay to play)

This seems to be the article Krikorian was talking about that Huckabee hijacked.

Arkansas Mike Huckabee, Republican Legislature: Democratic Final-Term Grade: F Final Overall Grade: D

Thanks to a final term grade of F, Huckabee earns an overall grade of D for his entire governorship. Like many Republicans, his grades dropped the longer he stayed in office. In his first few years, he fought hard for a sweeping $70 million tax cut package that was the first broad-based tax cut in the state in more than 20 years. He even signed a bill to cut the state’s 6 percent capital gains tax—a significant progrowth accomplishment.

But nine days after being reelected in 2002, he proposed a sales tax increase to cover a budget deficit caused partly by large spending increases that he proposed and approved, including an expansion in Medicare eligibility that Huckabee made a centerpiece of his 1997 agenda. He agreed to a 3 percent income tax “surcharge” and a 25-cent cigarette tax increase. In response to a court order to increase spending on education, Huckabee proposed another sales tax increase. Huckabee wants to run for the GOP presidential nomination next year. He’s already been hailed as a viable big-government conservative candidate by some. That seems about right: Huckabee’s leadership has left taxpayers in Arkansas much worse off.

Apparently the good folks in Arkansas had a rough time of it with Mike Huckabee: Big Government Conservative.

Huckabee was in line with these governors:

Montana Brian Schweitzer (D)* 47 F Alabama Bob Riley (R) 47 F Washington Christine Gregoire (D)* 47 F Arkansas Mike Huckabee (R) 46 F Nevada Kenny Guinn (R) 46 F Delaware Ruth Ann Minner (D)* 44 F North Carolina Michael Easley (D)* 44 F Arizona Janet Napolitano (D) 43 F Louisiana Kathleen Blanco (D)* 43 F Ohio Bob Taft (R) 53 C Kentucky Ernie Fletcher (R) 53 C Maryland Robert Ehrlich (R) 53 C Vermont James Douglas (R) 53 C Michigan Jennifer Granholm (D) 53 C

When I said a pathway, I didn’t say what the pathway was.

It is looking more and more like the Huckster must be asked to define the meaning of the words he uses!

So we need to ask the Huckster to define what he means when he says "amnesty"! And before he goes any further in the Primaries!

Just so he can never say:

"When I said a amnesty, I didn’t say what the amnesty was."

We need all these turkey’s..and our congressmen to sign pledges to crack down on illegal aliens and those the employ and aid them. I guess their oath of office isn’t enough.
We do need a guest worker program..limited by our unemployment figures. All immigration and visa programs need to have in and out logging. If US ICE can’t handle that we should ask Visa or Amex to bid to provide the cards and system. At the same time..we should have immigration bonds. Every visitor should post an immigration bond via an acceptable bank. These bonds would sort out who might overstay. The bonds would be real cheap..for Europeans and those with good credit records, but would be impossible for those with high risk of overstaying. Forfeited bonds would be used to pay for fugitive apprehension.
A friend of mine who works for State says they have discussed such a system.

No danger of that, Neil, because those of us with a brain and a history book know that Huckabee is full of crap with this phony pledge.

This "pledge" means as much as Bush 41's "Read My Lips" pledge. Huckabee has called anti-amnesty conservatives racists and spoken passionately to La Raza in favor of amnesty. Anyone who believes this pledge instead of his clear and irrefutable history is an imbecile.

Tom Tancredo knows immigration. And Tom Tancredo doesn't trust Huckabee or McCain:

U.S. Congressman Tom Tancredo endorses Romney(R-CO):
"While several of the candidates appear to be committed to our cause [immigration reform], there are others whose records as public servants are abysmal on this issue. They have been on the other side of the battle for years and encouraging and even inviting, in a way, illegal immigrants into the country. I fear that remaining in this race, when I know I cannot win, could contribute to the nomination of one of those candidates. We have done too much. We have come too far. The stakes are way too high for me to allow that to happen. And so today I’m doing two things that I believe are in the best interests of this cause, and that cause is, of course, a secure America. I am withdrawing from the race and I’m endorsing Governor Romney for president of the United States." (Video: Rep. Tancredo describes in detail why he endorses Governor Mitt Romney for President)

I already did. So, now it's your turn to READ something that I previously posted -- I quote:

"Now that everybody has cursed Huckabee, Boortz and even smeared the Fair Tax, how about discussing the issue of the thread.

Hint: The thread IS NOT about getting Huchabee elected -- it is about the illegal immigrant problem.

1. Read the blurb;
2. Note that it is in a rather brief form that could be presented to the voters without putting them to sleep: and
3. Try to recognize that the few brief items within the suggested program would, of course need to be fleshed out for implementaion.

Now, do you think we can get back to the subject of the thread?

Huck and McCain are bonafide liars when it comes to immigration.

They both have nerve to think we would ever trust them.

I am tired of their personal attacks on US citizens for wanting laws enforced and the borders closed.

Oof!: Huckabee: Only Racists Or Nativists Oppose Bush Plan
And this isn’t while he was governor, it was in defense of Bush’s comprehensive immigration reform.

Wrote in his 2007 book that implementing strict enforcement of immigration laws “would be sheer folly”

2006: Supported President Bush’s immigration plan and claimed that opposition to Bush’s proposal was driven by “racism or nativism” and that it wasn’t amnesty. (Ralph Hallow, “Huckabee ‘Serious’ About Presidency,” Washington Times, 5/17/06)

Helped lead the effort to open a Mexican Consulate in Little Rock to issue Matricula Consular cards to Mexicans living in the U.S. (including those in the U.S. illegally). Many banks, including some in Arkansas, accept the card as a valid form of identification. (Jon Gambrell, “Ark. Candidates Criticize Mexican Matricula Cards,” AP, 10/18/06)

At one time in the recent past you could get a passport fairly quickly. In December 1990 I was asked by the US. Manager of my company if I would go to Venezuela for a 2 week period to relieve another manager who need to return to the States. I did not have a passport so I was told to show up in his New Orleans office Friday morning with my birth cert. That Friday morning I was given directions to the passport office ... picture taken ... application filled out. They told me to pick up my passport at 2:00 pm. I was in Maracaibo, Venezuela Sat. night.

I ended staying in Venezuela for over a year. Turned out the reason for the quick return of the other manager was to fire him!

Excuse the long winded rant.

Hey, the subject of the thread is Huck and immigration.....HUCK GETS TOUGH ON IMMIGRATION

Right? Obviously you pick a candidate just like you read....with no thought! That’s what I posted about, that and his rating as a governor which sucks.

You have the same dim bulb attitude that Huck has.

McHuckaruney! 2008
It's time to take a stand.  Over the last 40 years, republicans have occupied the White House 70% of the time.  Has our nation moved to the right?  No.  We
have appointed seven of nine Supreme Court Justices.  Can we be assured the 2nd Amendment is secure?  No.  Is our education system better than it ever
was, or has it drifted far from the mandate we think it should observe?  The dems wish to turn our nation into the Communist model in ten to twenty years.
There are republicans who will do the same thing in 20 to 30 years, because they are not well grounded in conservative principles.  Do they deserve your vote?

Please, just say no to incrementalism.  Back reasoned conservatives.  Let's turn this thing around.  The founding principles must be secured, not abandoned.
