There is an unwritten rule in politics, especially WITHIN the Republican Party that the candidates don't come out and speak over one another.
I am not a McCain supporter as I see him as just as liberal as Giuliani. However, I was looking forward to HEARING John McCain make his concession speech.
About 90 SECONDS after McCain came out to speak, Romney comes out to interrupt McCain's speech obviously to quell any positive that might come out of McCain's concession.
This guy is way to slimey.
Mrarmitage,
I am not a big Romney fan, but what is slimey is for McCain to LEAVE Michigan before the votes were even counted, thus sliming the people of Michigan who voted for him.
He could not even hang around Michigan to give his concession speech.
He was in South Carolina, giving his Michigan concession speech.
Now thats slimey and classless. To the victor, go the spoils.
Mitt, at least hung around Michigan, prepared to give his acceptance speech or concession speech.
Yup, it was rude and classless.
I watched with interest what Huckabee had to say, (even though everything he said about “small government that stays out of our” lives directly conflicts with how he ran Arkansas!) and I wanted to see what McCain had to say, and I thought it real poor tactics to step on his conciliation speech.

NO I’m saying that the campaign managers were talking to each other by phone and Mitt’s son jumped the gun and introduced his father, probably without the campaign’s or Mitt’s knowledge. I would chalk it up to youthful exuberance on his son’s part and basically a huge tempest in a teapot.
Maybe Mitt Romney just got fed up with all the games. Maybe Mitt Romney just had finally had it with all the backstabbing and dirty tricks. Go, Mitt!!
‘Im in Mich BTW...’
If you voted for Romney, THANKS! The thought of McCain winning Mich was driving me crazy. Seems a lot of Republicans need a refresher course on McCain’s past behavior.
Good for Mitt. McLame gets nothing but fawning and drooling accolades by his msm lovers and supporters. The msm despise Romney, so it was nice to see him step on McLames speech.
Do any of the other candidates like roney? Because the body language in the debates says ‘no.’
Ditto. I think we need a candidate that isn’t afraid to play hardball too.
. . . . .scrorll down to 'Personal life'
McCain’s grumbling about this reiminds me of the knock about McCain having a nasty temper. A leopard can’t change his spots.
So . . . I guess we should all sell short?
No one wants the media's 'ho
Where have I heard this before (Obama)?
I'm not a Romney guy but McCain wins the gold for grandstanding and pettiness. He tried to screw W every which way in his first term. Hence, the tax cuts are not permanent (W couldn't get sixty votes in the senate thanks to McVain). McCain slimed all of us opposed to Shamnesty as xenophobic bigots. I could go on and on.
McCain was one hell of a POW but otherwise the guy is a complete a-hole.
Take a couple aspirins and call a Mclame supporter who cares in the morning..........
Don't call me because I'll still be celebrating Mclame's loss............
Right Fox kept saying that Huckabee would be out and he did not show. Brit kept asking where is Huckabee?
So I suspect that Huckabee was stalling to screw things up so Romney would not get on until most of the audience was gone.
But Romney went on when it was his time to be on. All the networks were prepared to go to Romney and did. I think you are right.
How much time does it take to say "I'ma pro-tax, pro-illegal immigrant, anti-business, global warming cultist, democrat sympathizing loser. Congratulations Mr. Romney.........
By my calculations he was given approximately 81 seconds over and above what he deserved.
