"A third of my generation is dead because of politicians like Giuliani." -- Steven Pokorny, age 28, at Giuliani during meeting in Miami, Sunday, Jan. 13
MIAMI, Jan. 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- Rudy Giuliani was rattled by pro-life advocates and canceled his speech at his first bus-tour event Sunday in Miami. Activists have planned confrontations with Rudy for every stop of his Florida bus tour. Photos available online.
On Sunday, Jan. 13, at approximately 12:15 PM, pro-life activists were in the crowd at The Green Street Cafe (located at 3110 Commodor Plaza, Coconut Grove Florida, just outside Miami) waiting for Giuliani to begin his Florida Bus Tour.
When Rudy Giuliani arrived, Joseph Landry (age 26) was within 5 feet of the candidate, and began yelling: You are a baby killer! You are a baby killer! Florida is pro-life! Rudy wants public funding for abortion!" See news report. Law enforcement officials immediately escorted Mr. Landry from the area, while Mr. Landry continued his monologue.
Within Minutes, Steven Pokorny, age 28, stood to his feet and cried out, "A third of my generation is dead because of politicians like Giuliani! Giuliani wants to kill children and have you pay for it!" Law enforcement did not stop Mr. Pokorny.
At that point, Giuliani left the building, without addressing the crowd.
Mr. Pokorny was able to follow Mr. Giuliani for more than a minute, yelling out about Rudy's pro-choice, pro-homosexual agenda. Again, Mr. Pokorny was not interrupted by police.
Giuliani officials had no idea how many pro-lifers were in the crowd, and how many more times Giuliani would be confronted. This might explain why Mr. Giuliani did not make any remarks - and left the meeting without addressing supporters.
Pro-lifers have scheduled confrontations with Rudy on every stop of his Florida Bus tour.
Video footage of the confrontations with Rudy is available upon request.
No!!!! We need him to stay in and keep splitting the RINO vote.
I wonder if Rudy ever stops to reflect that if he had just followed his Church's teaching on abortion, he would now be coasting to the GOP nomination.
Probably not.
“Isnt it ironic that Rudy and his handlers cant deal with the freedom of expression of two prolifers, yet they honor and applaud the vulgar and offensive public displays of the Gay Pride parades?”
good point.
I ask you again: how do you know or not know if or how I fight against abortion? How do you know?
Just answer that question, please.
I’m not trying to discourage the pro-lifers. I’m simply asking pro-lifers to ask themselves whether this type of protest is positive or negative under all the circumstances.
How is just asking that question turn me into a pro-abortionist?
You insult God by claiming you know who or what I do or do not defend in real life.
You sure are paranoid, claiming that anyone who disagrees with you is holier-than-thou and is telling you to shut up.
And you didnt answer my question: how do you know who or what I do or do not defend in real life?

You are not God, so God has not been insulted...
If you live in another world in “real life” maybe you would be more comfortable there where you cant be “insulted..
I only know what you told me in a FReepmail and I dont indulge private info in public...
So as you have not said out in public the same things, I have disregarded them.....
You have no answers and you are part of the problem and not part of the answer...
You enable the sin or abortion to continue and you demand that pro-lifers appease the abortionists...
I have fought better than you about abortion, so dont think you are important...
I doubt if you ever had death threats for your work against abortion... passivity usually does not invite such opposition...
You are milk toast...
Yowser, good one!
Let's take it back to the beginning, shall we?
To: KeithCuall you do is pontificate that you shall not impose MY will on others in the arena of public speech.you must be okay with protesters interrupting rallies.
I had no idea that First Amendment rights were suspended at rallies.

This is reasoning that typifies DU.
Perhaps you have never heard the teaching that not everything that is allowed is beneficial or helpful or edifying?

The statement he proffered had absolutely NOTHING to do with what was "beneficial, or helpful, or edifying" and EVERYTHING to do with what was "allowed." First Amendment rights are NOT suspended when a politician gets off the bus, or walks toward a building, or even plans to speak in front of a crowd.
We do not live in Marxist China.

You are the one who is "pontificating" about how, where, when, and in what manner someone should be "allowed" to speak, as did the poster who got banned. You are the one who continually wants to bring up the "manner and method" by which YOU think free speech is EFFECTIVE. That is besides the point, and NOT what I addressed to the poster to begin with.
As far as the "effective" manner and method, I have already stated what I may or may not PERSONALLY do. So, why is it you wish to now bring up the Dixie Chix, which I have already also addressed?
Fat chance. As if some little pipsqueak on a website could discourage those who have been fighting for the lives of unborn babies for over thirty-five years.
You sure have an overinflated opinion of yourself and your powers of persuasion.
While I respect your opinions, Palladin, I do have to say that your # 424 posted above is probably the MOST ASININE comment I've ever read on FR in my almost ten years as a freeper.

Hold up the mirror to yourself if you want to see a picture of vile, for it is you.
Thanks for illustrating my point so well.
Neither Rudy nor Hillary can run and hide from their positions on abortion and gay rights. In fact, their positions here are strikingly similar.
That is why I have repeatedly stated they are nothing but fascists and there's a book all about them, it's called Animal Farm.
Oh, please. If these seasoned politicians can’t take the heat, they should get the hell out of the kitchen.
Sorry if I hurt your feelies, too. Want a cookie and a nap?
My post stated that your tortured logic in comment # 424 was about the MOST ASININE that I've ever read in almost 10 years on this forum.

Young people need to express their passions, and by doing so, get emotionally involved in their causes. Sweet reasonableness has limited appeal. One needs martyrs as well as confessors and apologists.
Yes, I’m sure many women who had abortions thirty or so years ago would agree with you that my feelings are “asinine” and don’t count.
I answered this already way back at post #211.
Sorry you missed it!
You are a broken record.
When are you going to quit repeating how it is someone’s right to make an arse out of themselves and tell us your view on the real issue upon which people can disagee: whether today’s protests were an effective making of an arse out of oneself.
You hold up something about which there is ZERO (just for you!) controversy-—that is, that the Constitution protects some freedom of speech-—and then pontificate as if you are enlightening the rest of us on . . . the, um, OBVIOUS.
We know each person has a right to speak their mind, as you endlessly spout.
That has NOTHING (there ya go again) to do with the point that is in controversy: whether this act of speech had a positive or negative overall effect.
Some people think it was positive, some negative. That is what the discussion is about. Not about how, in your mind, the very fact that people discuss this point is “forcing people to shut up.”
