Excellent. 48 states to go! Maybe now these backstabbing business owners will hire LEGAL citizens and quit breaking the law.

Every state that has enacted these types of laws has seen the illegals scramble out of the state. Seems to me they are on the right track.
Arizona’s law says the first offense gets you shut down for 10 days and the next time you lose your business license. How many small businesses could afford to be shut down for 10 days.

Apparently one way or another we pay for it. I would rather pay for things legal. We will adjust.

I remember the nation before we were flooded with illegals. It was better then. The whining author can learn how to start a lawn mower.

Hit ‘em hard, but there is NO need whatsoever for confiscation prior to a conviction. After conviction, confiscation can be made part of the sentence if appropriate, but the last thing we need is to give government at any level another excuse to take things from an accused person or company before they’re even tried.
That having been said, huge kudos to Oklahoma for cracking down! Self-deportation works.

Any idea why there’s a problem with labor supply in agriculture? AFAIK, there is no limit on the number of H2A visas for seasonal workers.
To: jdm
Oklahoma had almost full employment before 1804, so the seasonal work will be hard to fill Maybe they should advertise for workers from Michigan. I hear they have 10% unemployment there.

In order to make up for the labor shortage, these industries will have to raise wages, and therefore prices.<<
Yup...Thats exactly how supply and demand works in a free economy.....(2 sides to that equation) There is no job in America that Americans wont do ...(for the right price..Thats the demand side)

Thousands of people have simply left their jobs, leaving some business owners struggling to adjust:Good, I hope it's painful for those Quislings.

Now they need to go after Greenleaf Nursery for all of the medical bills that their employees did not pay. Bet they were not making minimum wage.

Idiot OBL reporter spreading lies via USA Today. At the end of the article is a sterling example of another problem that can be traced to the damn Illegal aliens, Illegal Alien Homeowners:
Jose and Esperanza Becerra, Tulsa couple came to Oklahoma from Mexico illegally, Jose 10 years ago and his wife five years ago. They were drawn here “because it was a pretty state and there was work,” Jose says. Since 1804 passed, the Becerras have closed their bank account and put THEIR HOME ON THE MARKET, (now how can this Illegal couple buy a home in the US?), just in case they are forced to leave quickly or against their will. “Since the law went into effect,” Esperanza says, “we are in fear every day.”

Oklahoma plans a confiscation scheme in which the state takes away property, including real estate, for those who violate the law. Whoa! That's gutsy. I wonder what would happen if this were tried in California?

the housing market will suffer another hit in a year that already portends dark days for residential real estate. Seems to me we were saying - over two years ago - that this would be an inevitable result of funding loans to illegals in the first place.
Talk about sub-prime lending...
