(Newsletter No.1 8/15/06) I was on The Mike Malloy Show on Air America
Radio last night (8/14/06) to talk about bringing an AAR station to the
Wausau, Stevens Point Radio market which includes Marshfield and
Wisconsin Rapids. You can find an mp3 of his show from Monday, 8/14/06
at the White Rose Society. I was on in the second hour of Mike?s show.

I didn?t get to say everything that I had planned because of time
constraints. As I said on the air, we want to raise $100,000 by selling
pixel billboards. Each pixel can be purchased for $1 each ? 10X10 pixel
spaces to equal $100. We realize not everyone can afford this kind of
money, so I?m getting a group of AAR friends together to contribute
$10-$20 each to come up with $100. Then we can display our personal
message on the pixel site. Or you can make a single contribution by make
out a check for any amount payable to Nova M Radio and send it to the
address listed below in my signature.
I realize money is tight with everyone, but if these neo-cons succeed in
destroying our country, we will have nothing left. I don?t mean to scare
you, but it seems like this is the way we are heading and we must make a
change. That is why I?m asking for everyone?s help. The station will be
locally owned and operated. Nova M Radio is currently searching for a
market-wide radio station(s).
I also am looking for ?blue? local companies in Marshfield, Wisconsin
Rapids, Wausau, and Stevens Point who would become potential advertisers
on the station(s) to contribute through pixel sales. I also want to
locate substantial contributors which I will introduce to Nova M Radio.
I met with Stevens Point Mayor, Gary Wescott (8/15/06) to discuss ways
of funding this project. He suggested I talk to Jeff Landin at the
Portage County Business Council to introduce larger investors to Nova M
Radio. The wheels are now in motion.
Former Wisconsin Governor and former Secretary of Health & Human
services, Tommy Thompson has teamed up with some neo-cons to also
purchase radio stations around our state to spew out right wing
propaganda. If we are going to keep Wisconsin a blue state and take back
the White House in 2008, we must get a progressive liberal voice on the
radio. This starts on a grassroots roots level. While the neo-cons start
a movement from the top down, progressive movements like this one start
from the bottom up. This breeds success because it is by the people and
for the people.
I?m ecstatic about discovering more AAR listeners after being on
Malloy?s radio program. I know we can make this happen. I think if we
can meet individually through emails, on the phone, and in-person, we
can come up with ways to raise the needed start-up money for the first
year of operating a radio station.
This is a grassroots effort that I know will bring us a progressive
liberal talk radio station that we can finally listen to without
vomiting. I appreciated all the positive response that I received from
all who listened last Monday night on The Mike Malloy Show. I plan to
try and get on other AAR shows in the future. I will keep you posted.

I’ve been to Stevens Point on several occasions but never really long enough to pick up on the local celebs. it is a college town, though, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy was with the college newspaper or something juvenile like that.
That whole “stopping wars for oil” crap sounds pretty college level to me. Along with the rest of his blueprint for Libtopia.

Stevens Point is not all like this doppe. It has a large Polish population of great decent friendly people. Stevens Point is surrounded by a very large rural area and not many of the folks who reside there would agree with Mr. Doppe. Also, Stevens Point hosts the best farmers market I have ever been to.
I looked at his picture. I don’t see a guy who is called “smokin’ Joe” I see a guy who might go by “Joekster”, but not a Smokin’Joe kind of guy.
Shouldn’t someone send him this thread so he can enjoy the mocking?
