Firstly:

The lesser of two evils is still evil

Secondly:

The GOP is rabidly gaining pace with the liberals making them the equal of two evils

Lastly, My conservatism offended him, he called me a freak and suggested that I should not be allowed to vote because of my conservatist views.

Bush has been good on a few issues.

When it comes to good on a few issues or good on no issues, I'm gonna go with good on a few issues. President Bush has made me darned mad when it comes to certain things, but I would be in a straight jacket now if it had been Gore or Kerry in there. We've probably got two Supreme Court nominations coming up this next go around and it will more likely than not be a better outcome with a Republican in there than a Dem. I know about Souter but I said more likely. I'm going with the Repub. That's the best chance I've got.

I guess it depends on whether you want a kiss with your “screwing”-—’cause you sure won’t get one from a damned dim lib Dem.

If you can’t comprehend the differences, subtle as you may perceive them, I won’t waste my time, but those who REALLY care about this country WILL vote.

And your new cheif justice Ruthie

They don’t change Chief Justices. Robert’s court will stay the Robert Court. Why do you think it will change? I have never heard of it changing before.

I certainly hope you are right, but the 2006 Election has me convinced otherwise. The “we would better off long term by losing” nonsense was ALL OVER this site back then, and it turned out to be prophetic. I really think most of these people are planning on staying home if McCain or Rudy is the nominee. I also think there a lot of people in the Evangelical community who are done with the Republican Party unless we nominate one of their own.

It’s a BAD time to be reasonable my friend...

Sure. I’ll vote too. I just won’t vote for a liberal no matter what party they belong to.

Yup...and the WOT is one of those in a major way.

The image of Hillary as Commander in Chief standing and speaking before our armed forces as "Hail to the Chief" is played in her honor...EGADS.

I would crawl over broken glass and vote for ANY GOP candidate to avoid such a horror.

True. I was surprised it wasn’t the Scalia Court though. Seems like he earned it, I was surprised the GWB named the newest associate justice (at the time) Chief.

Yes same old mantra. Anyway the only on I would have a serious hard time voting for is Huckster. I don’t think I can pull that lever for him. It will take a huge amount of convincing from FRiends on FREEPERS for me to do that. Even Rudy would be easier for me to be convinced. Huckster would most definitely be the biggest disaster and perhaps the worst president in the history of our nation. He would make Jimmy Carter look presidential and pull his ranking up to second from the bottom. We would not have a Republican President again for at least a decade if not more.

The GOP is waiting for their base to blink. They trust that pubs will come back bacause of '06.

I really think that pubs should kick them right in the balls as a clear signal that we won't take it anymore.

"Act conservative or join the other team."

At least Jeffords had the courage to switch.

In reality the number of people who will sit home on Election Day out of spite or a misguided attempt to practice adherence to their particular conception of conservative orthodoxy is really quite low, no matter what they claim. For those of us who deal in reality and recognize that politics by nature involves compromise, we’ll go with the best option we have, as it is always better than allowing our opponents to make our choices for us.

You know what, that's a really great assessment.  Bush scraped by in the year 2000, by the slimest of margins.  In 2004, it wasn't much better.  Now you suggest that dumping those who are conservative, and voting in another person who will implemnt liberal policies, would be a great victory.

Number one, you don't have any margin.  Number two, providing you can get another leftist in there without us, what's the victory going to be worth when the guy will implement 25% cosnervative policy and 75% liberal policy?

I've argued both sides of this issue.  I know that it's a tough sell.  Either we stand up and demand a conservative, or the RP leadership will continue moving to the left, because it works for them.

Is that really what a conservative should hope for?  Should we spend another eight years without someone championing conservatism from the White House?  How about 16, 24, 32 years?  How long do we drift left implementing liberal policies 75% of the time?  How long do we allow this generation and the next to go without hearing good sound conservative principles, and seeing them implemented?

.....or Obama. He’s maybe even more scary. Can you imagine a closet Muslim as our President, while our children are fighting Islamofacists? I can’t.

The fact that anyone is willing to abandon our military, or our safety, to what the Dems have to offer is subhuman.

She'll retire. She's been fighting cancer.

Exactly. The next President will probably see five SC Justices retire. We are talking 25+ years for the new ones..!

I think he was looking at it from an age perspective only. If Scalia had been younger he would have been first choice IMHO.

I won’t vote for rudy or ron paul.

But everyone else is reasonably pro-life and supports our troops and I’m not willing to punish the whole country with hillary or obama just because the GOP didn’t nominate the ‘perfect’ candidate
