Fred with 1 delegate did well in NH, but Mitt, who still leads the overall delegate count, did poorly? Interesting. But this begs the question of why Fred would ignore a state that, theoretically, he would win (fairly easily-—if Freepers were to be believed). When Rudy ducks IA, he’s “chicken,” but when Fred doesn’t campaign hard in a deep red state, there is some other explanation. Just asking for a little balance here.

I think that’s easy to understand. Romney has been dissing Mass since he left. If I lived in that area, I’d be a little put off that he didn’t give a little more respect to the state that propped him up.

Yep. What I find interesting though, is that the guy who has most consistently tried to win the conservatives over, Rudy, is bashed the most, while the guy who has given the finger to conservatives, McCain, is still tolerated. Oh well.

This could absolutely be true. Yes, primaries CAN be about expectations---but again, that's in a "normal election year." This year, it is almost certain we will have a non-governor win (breaking tradition---unless Mitt or Huck pulls it out); it is likely we will break recent tradition and have a primary season that means something well into February or March, and if no one drops out soon, it is even possible we go to a convention without a clear candidate.

So it's too early to cite precedent in Romney's case. But I have never heard of anyone who was leading in delegates throwing in the towel---course, you might know election history better than I, so I'm open.

You were the one who brought Duncan Hunter's son into the argument for no apparent reason and omitted McCain's. And then accused the poster of myopia.

McCain's record on the number of troops needed is clear.

Romney’s strategy counted on winning Iowa and NH. His first two big tests and he lost both. Proof that money isn’t everything. Huckabee with little cash took down the money man and McCain did the same last night. Willard’s projection of invincibility was nothing more than a facade. Just like Perot, Myth will spend what it takes to stay in. Ho-hum.

But let me be clear on this, too. If it's between McCain and Obama or McCain and Hillary, sigh, then McCain gets my vote. I'll even work for the guy.

If it's between Huck and Hillary or Huck and Obama, Huck gets my vote.

If it's between . . . . you get the point. I will work for, and vote for, ANY Republican who wins the nomination as vastly better than ANY Dem this side of Joe Lieberman.

Since Ron Paul isn't really a Republican I don't need to worry about him.

Fred and Duncan were at 1%, because NE U.S conservatives are rare as hens teeth.

So, in essence you are saying that if Fred or Duncan become the GOP nominee, they will get no support in the NE states because no Republicans there support conservatives enough.

Well, THAT's a good reason to support them.

Well I am please you cleared up your stand. I have observed John McCain to be far less a ‘republican’ than the libertarian Ron Paul. I won’t be voting for either of them.

Without John McCain’s campaign finance reform Hillry would not be all funded up with SOROS. Further the only enemy that John McCain brags about destroying is Rummy.

You know the more I read of your posts the more I don’t understand your thinking. If you want Romney out of the race because he came in second place than I suppose that the only ones that should be in the race should be Huck and McCain and Romney if you include Wyoming. You are dead on. Abortion is a very important issue, but it should not be the only issue.

I try to pattern my thoughts on abortion after Christ’s manner of dealing with slavery. Instead of attacking the institution (an unwinnable fight in the current environment), work to change people’s hearts.

Bringing more people to a mature relationship with Him is the answer to the abortion quandary.
