Who the he!! keeps sneezing in the background? Can anyone else hear that?
Anyone want to posit a reason why this is being called with only 25% of the precincts in?

Romney has already said his wife has put a limit on how much he spends. That said, I think there are millions of Republicans like me who haven't given $$ to anyone yet, and who are waiting to see who can actually make a difference.

If the final choice is Huck, McCain, Rudy, or Romney, then I will have a choice to make---but I can just about guarantee you it won't be Ron Paul, Duncan Hunter, or Fred Thompson.

Sorry ... got head of myself.

Both States 'basic philosophies' are different politically speaking. Romney seems to capture a good percentage of both of these 'philosophies'.

Does this mean that all your Huckster is lost?

This results don't effect Huckabee one way or the other. Polls show him way ahead in South Carolina. I expect him to remain ahead in the next few days there.

You need to post a source if you’re going to throw something like that out, especially as a reason to scorn McNutt, FRiend.

Romney is only impressive if you like opportunistic liars that have pledged to defend abortion and gay rights.

Sorry, but you are living in the past. Your quoting someone else’s talking points based on old news. At this point in time they are IMHO, all irrelevant. I haven’t made up my mind yet, but shortly it is going to be made up for me when the big state primaries are complete, and whoever it is, is a giant leap better than anything the dems have to offer.

I know exactly why Freepers like Fred-—I like him for the same reasons. But I’m not crazy enough to think he has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning. Nor do I think Mitt or Huck is a conservative. We will NOT have a conservative as our candidate this year, so people better come to terms with that and elect the guy who comes closest.

Personally, I haven't been called anything. I also wouldn't care if I were. I've got one priority - beat the heck out of the nation's foreign enemies and support our men in the field to the utmost. Whatever that takes. I really don't give a rats rear about your personal feeling - and there is no reason anyone should.

But as difficult as it is, people here better get used to this reality: the GOP nominee will be one of four guys---McCain, Romney, Huck, or Rudy.

Now, cue all the Freepers who will sing in unison, "Well, I ain't gonna vote then, blah, blah, blah."

When the choice is to vote for a liberal in the Democratic party or a liberal in the Republican party....

And it's just not here on FR that the base has lost motivation. In the 2006 elections, the GOP lost 6 or 7 percent of the white vote (I forget which number). Enough so that if they got the same percentage they did in 2004, they'd could have possibly retained both houses, depending on the breakdown of votes.

Run a conservative and conservatives will vote. I don't know what's wrong with the Iowa and NH 'Republicans', however. Apparently those states are full of RINOs as well.

Didn’t McCain win the NH primary before? Since he’s never made it to the Presidency, why should anyone expect anything different this time?

When you are out of arguments, call names. Mitt’s got more delegates than McCain, probably four or five times as many as Thompson, and the Rudy states haven’t even kicked in where their guy will give him a bunch of delegates. Now, try again.

Can't win in Iowa after spending millions and investing years. Same result in New Hampshire with equal effort. What's he gonna do when he gets to the good folks in the less "blue" areas of the country? Sounds like a one-say trip on the SS Minnow.

"The weather started getting rough. The tiny grassroots ship was tossed. If not for the coffers of the cash-filled crew, the Minnow would be lost...the Minnow would be lost. And now they're here, kicked off the NE Island, on this uncharted isle...with Gilligan, the Bay State Skipper, too, he's a multi-millionaire & his Planned-Parenthood supporting wife, with movie star looks, & the shipwreck of faith rest are here on Gilligan's Isle..."

I don’t think it’s your place to decide who is or is not a conservative.
