Vandals Hit Vietnam Memorial For 2nd Time In 2 Weeks

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- New Haven's Vietnam War Memorial has been hit by vandals for the second time in two weeks.

Both times, the memorial on Long Wharf was defaced by a spray painted message touting a violet street gang known as MS-13.

Police said the gang, with roots in El Salvador, is not known to be active in New Haven.

City officials said they are considering putting up cameras near the memorial to help protect it from future vandalism.

No arrests have been made. The city plans to clean the monument on Monday.

Can we please just agree that MS-13 is a foreign based organization with the purpose of subverting the law, and therefore treat these foreign nationals as enemy agents and the citizens as traitors?

OTOH, if you aren't interested in catching someone, but want to hope for a deterrent effect, you announce it.

I'm 100% serious. I think the Connecticut legislature should authorize shooting to kill anyone carrying paint, acid, chalk, or anything that might be used to deface a state monument withing 100 feet of the monument. Think of the defacing and the shooting as competing types of "free speech."

This is a turf declaration,and fer sure a homeland terror and a direct slap in the face of Democracy and Federalism...a statement saying “we dont give a rats ass about your system and those that defended it”.....is this becomming a problem else where?
