Okay, Glenn admits his surgery was butt surgery.
Asking too much from people that are inured to human pain and trauma. There are not enough people to take care of patients.
My wife is a nurse and she's swamped. Can't give the care people should get. If they spend too much time focusing on one patient others are ignored. It's not the people's fault. It's the fault of regulation and govt. control. Too much paperwork. It's the fault of lack of medical and nursing schools coupled with their monopoly on medical education.
Nursing schools TRY to drive students out. They claim it's to weed out the weak ones but it's more about money. If they can maintain their monopoly they can charge 30K/year for tuition.
There are many things wrong with going to hospital. You have to go there knowing the you will be expected, in this day and age, to be prepared to help yourself more than ever.

I had abdominal surgery about seven years ago and had to stay in the hospital about three days.
After a day or two, my bed sheets were stained with spilled food, etc. The place was so understaffed that an aide just dropped off new sheets on the chair next to my bed, but never came back to actually change them. I couldn’t stand it so I got up with the IV still attached to my arm and changed them myself.
Apparently- the drug cocktail he was taking gave him some interesting hallucinations.
Glenn is the drama queen....
Now he’s losing it.

Umm...evidently he’s never had a hospital stay before.

I am thinking about a family friend who was 30 years old and she has AML Luekemia (she just went into her second remission)....and she was talking about losing all dignity too. But the girl was always ‘up’.....always laughing and joking at the BMT, having to poop in a pot, and all the sickness and pain....and she never acted like Glen is acting.
I would agree, but there are always exceptions. I woke up during major knee surgery and it shocked the hell out of people in the OR. I swear that the young female anesthesiologist had a hangover. When I spoke with her before I went into the OR, I could smell it.
It is quite a surreal experience and Beck should be upset, especially if the pain patch part of this story is correct.

You don’t have any idea what your are talking about. Hemorrhoids are usually caused by straining from various causes.
I bet hemorrhoid cases are way down in Europe because of bidets. I use the next best thing, the removable shower head with hose attached for cleaning in those interior places.
Glenn Beck, instead of griping about his lousy hospital treatment, should go on a clean wiping publicity tour. Hey, Glenn, sorry about what happened to you but it was completely AVOIDABLE. If you don't get a bidet, get a removable shower head with hose. Use after every time you do doo-doo.
Here in south florida a large percentage of the nurses are Haitian immigrants who barely speak english. I think most were laid off from the Motel 6 across the street from the hospital.

I used to be plagued by inflamed hemorroids but after listening to Howard Stern on the subject, I made use of the shower for that extra cleanup. Guess what? Not ONE flareup since then and it has been many years.
I can’t believe that he’s never been sooo sick that someone had to help to clean him up. I’m single and was living alone and had the flu a few years ago. I called in sick to the coffice pretty much took care of myself. My sister called and didn’t like what she heard (I was pretty feverish).
I was a mess when she got there. I had no idea that I had vomited on my pillow. That wasn’t all. She was so sweet and careful as she got me up and cleaned me up. It isn’t dignified but sometimes ya need help. Granted, she’s my sister, but I’m a pretty modest woman.
Glenn, there is no modesty in a hospital.
Sadly, Glenn’s experience isn’t unique. He and his wife have every reason to be upset. But what I detect is that he had no idea that people encounter this kind of medical “care” these days.
The way you deal with these kinds of things is to have an advocate at the patient’s side 24/7, especially if they are weak or in any way not mentally alert because of pain or meds or whatever. And that advocate has to view themselves as having a job to do - a demanding job - because the hospital staff for some reason doesn’t do it. It’s not just a thing of sitting by the bedside and encouraging the sick. It’s about being a major part of their care and recovery.
After being such an advocate for a family member, it made me wonder how many patients die in a hospital when no family/friends are there and the family never finds out it was because of negligence. Things like problems with breathing that goes undetected because staff don’t take the time to really and truly look at the patient and note changes in their condition.
