FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark.; former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass.; former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas; Gov. Bill Richardson, D-N.M.; former Sen. Fred Thompson, R-Tenn.; Mahmud Ali Durrani, Pakistan's ambassador to the U.S.
I would guess though both the VP and President have given subliminal signals though of course would be denied if asked where their support lies.
Romney gave the speech on his faith at the President father’s library and the VP daughter Liz is involved with the Thompson campaign.
Maybe I am way off beam here but I wonder if both these facts are signals that these are the 2 candidates which the President and VP prefer and or the 2 the GOP would also prefer.
So to say at the end of the day they may join as President and VP nominees may well be feasible.
MTP heavily pushing McCain this morning. (Yuk)
“Timmy is reading Bill Clintons quote about how the meanness is forced on them by the media.”
I guess the former President will never grow up, and take responsibility for his own actions.
Me too has something changed?
McCain over does the my friend comments and he uses them when unnecessary. Much different than the way it’s used in the UK.
Just a bit. The NH GOP pulled support but the debate is still on, the last I heard. You’ll read it as you are getting caught up. LOL
That is my wishful thinking, snugs. Fred & Mitt are mostly supporting the Prez unlike some others throwing stones just to please the media. One has the money & other is the most conservative of the pack. Just draft a winning campaign team & crush the dems.
Brit: Against all the conventional wisdom, Romney won that debate. The question is, how many people saw the debate.
Good Morning All
I just tuned into the last few minutes of of Fox .... why does bill Kristol look so angry?
He also thinks McCain will beat Romney...his reasoning is that the voters want change and do not want to go with the establishment. Anyone see a problem with his thinking here?
McCain IS part of the establishment and has been a Washington insider for years. How can they think that people believe he is the “change” candidate for the Republians? McCain is supported by the media and Washington insiders. Voters will not support him. If “change” is indeed what people want then Huck or Mitt will win the Rep nomination.
When the Democrats came out, my wife and I turned the TV off and had dinner. Much nicer way to end the evening.
Was Thompson mentioned at all by the panel?
You missed a great comedy show & a skilful, reasonable moderator.
Now you are talking my language, let's get it on!!
One comment I would make I think Thompson may win more votes than the media think but I doubt it will be enough to get the nomination but he may well help another candidate or as I am wondering may in fact be the party’s choice for VP.
He would bring the conservative block of the Republican Party with him but as I have said before I do not think he will appeal to independent or non decided voters across the country. However bringing the conservative vote with him and with the more countrywide appeal of whoever is the Presidential candidate it could well swing the election for the Republican Party in fact may well be the only way that the Republicans can win.
I hope to never hear the word "change" again
I lost count how many times Edwards said it in one sentence
