I didn't miss it, hence the final line of my post. It's not a bad dream. Fred has a history of accepting service when his country needed him. He might say yes if the circumstances were right. It might not be the least likely thing to happen this goofy election cycle.

Did you get the impression that Fred likes Mitt? I didn’t get that feeling.

Can't say that I did but that doesn't really matter. I have no expectation that Fred would want the #2 spot, just that I can see them being an effective campaigning team from a lot of aspects. The 'opposites attract' truism, the NE-SE team-up, enthusiasm coupled with gravitas.

Probably won't happen but it definitely could work.

My review of the Republicans:

Mitt was on the defensive too many times tonight. He tried to dominate the debate and came off looking pushy. Most memorable line: “I was miquoted.”

Huck was the compassionate conservative in this debate. But there was too much compassion and not enough conservatism.

Rudy was like a bad magician trying to pull too many Reagans out of his hat.

McCain was McCain, which is enough for most conservatives to say, “No thanks.”

Ron Paul was sounded like some abductee who fell to earth from an alien flying saucer. He get a tin foil hat as a consolaiton prize.

Fred Thompson looked, sounded and acted presidential. His answers were clear, conscise and always from a conservative point of view. Fred was the class of this class tonight.
