This is hilarious. Romney actually said, “I like mandates, mandates work.” Fred pounded him on it.

Romney got pounded all night and defended himself very poorly with lame “Hey, stop the personal attacks, I’m here to talk about issues.” crack back.

McCain took the gloves off and Romney just sat there basically saying, “Don’t hit me! Charlie? Will you tell him to stop hitting me?”

Fred was the big winner tonight.

I think he sees this as a Republican type question- national security etc. At least I THINK that’s what he’s doing...

I did not see this as a fair question at all. It sounded like President Bush has done nothing about international terrorism in the past six years. The Dems will come up with our salvation. /s

Hilary is threatening to attack which country AFTER an American city is nuked? All the dems are despondent they have to address terrorism first. They hate it.

Hugh Hewitt.

He was pushing Romney and deliberately humiliated TT on his show.

Look at Richardson, talking to himself.

FDA requirements have caused the average new drug to require something like 13+ years of testing to gain final approval. Millions and millions of dollars are involved for every new drug.

Drug companies spend fortunes on R&D in the USA. Some of the same drugs are approved in much shorter time than that, in Europe.

Honestly, I took a Course in Pharmacology a couple of years ago, and though my memory of certain stats is likely imperfect, my overall impression is that pharmaceuticals are way more expensive here in the USA than they ought to be.

I realize that I am fortunate because my health has always been good. That fact of course could change in an instant.

I totally sympathize with pissy. It is a hard knock life.

I worry about our forests with all the treaties Richardson would be printing.

It must be killing them to have to talk about national security.

Not their strong point via agenda for sure.

Please tell me Richardson didn’t say North Korea?

Next he’ll say China... maybe even Loral.

Can’t stand Hillary! either.

Romney won this debate. He was the center of the action, the attacks, the questions and the answers. It was a good night for him.

Fred had his best day in a while though. Too bad he didn’t get started a bit earlier and do it with some enthusiasm.

HIT CLINTON AND RICHARDSON ON THEIR ADMINISTRATIONS AS FAR AS NOT FIGHTING TERROR.

Huckster is all muddied up...not strong on economic topics...

Amen to that. When Huckabee offered his plan of offering $1 billion to the first person who can come up with a car that gets 100 mpg, I wish someone like Fred! had said:

With all due respect, there's no difficulty in coming up with a car that gets 100 mpg --- as long as you willing to drive a tomato can with wheels. What you need is car that gets 100 mpg, can carry a family of 4 and their groceries, is safe, and reliable and above all -- affordable.

Now if you can invent a car like that, you won't need $ 1 billion from government ...

Fred Thompson had showdowns with Paul (war), Romney (healthcare), and Giuliani (immigration) and came out smelling like roses each time.
