When Mitt was defending drug companies he should have reminded McCain that they are the ones who gave him Viagra.
Actually, I think this was Mitt's best night in a debate. The left and hacks for other candidates will spin it like they will, but the reality was there for all to see. Could we expect ABC to tell us why everyone was attacking Mitt?....no way! He is the leader and everyone knows it!
Diane Sawyer made a comment that she wondered if being on the defensive even though he wasn’t leading anymore meant something... As in the other candidates see him as the one they need to beat. So, I wouldn’t say that ABC was all that negative on Romney.
Guilliani was fighting Michigan tonight, not New Hampshire. All the attacks were on Romney because of 1) they know who can raise money and 2) the Romney victory in Wyoming indicated Iowa meant nothing.
I thought Thompson’s style will appeal to many, but it’s too late and he can’t raise enough money to spend where it has to be spent in California and Illinois.
I thought Huckabee was completely lost in the shuffle.
I thought Romney managed to have more time for himself than perhaps was best for him, but that may be simply because of the seating arrangement with him in the middle.
I was astonished that McCain attacked so much. I thought the polls had him ahead. You don’t risk seeming mean when you’re ahead. Maybe the newest polls he has look more ominous.

My worthless evaluation of the debate. Pardons for length, figured I might as write out my impressions, and I was away from the comp the whole debate.
Wonderful debate. Ask relevant questions, let the candidates debate. Novel idea!
Romney. Good answers, presidential, intelligent, and easily understood. But he got himself backed into a corner a couple of times and, I don’t know. Just something about him, seems as if he is in debating class, trying to score points, not show everyone his own views.
McCain. Not the best orator, or at remembering lines. Still, he did help convince me of his credentials to be the president and of some of his own controversial views. I’ve always kind of supported him, so I’m naturally biased, but thought that he did a good of showing his self (unlike Romney).
Guiliani. Not too much involvement. Didn’t get into any real arguments, stayed pretty simple, tried and true. Generally quite good, but didn’t really get into any debates, so it’s hard to judge.
Paul. Should not be on stage, but love him. Always good for a laugh or cheap punching bag for guys trying to appeal to establishment conservatives.
Huckabee. Reinforced my dislike. Signature moment, his attempt to compare himself to Obama, describe how similar they are. Scary for a Republican in a Republican debate...
Thompson. Perfect answers on all the questions. Now if he could only speak in such a way that people would listen... This is really petty, but he has to act (like he does so well) when he answers questions. So, good answers, horrible presentation.
So, my biased view, McCain, Thompson, Guiliani, Romney, Huckabee, Paul.

McCain’s literally uses the word “phony” attacking Romney- this after live report saying voter groups did not respond well to personal attacks during this debate.
Mitt’s ad immediately followed McCain’s - starts off respectfully praising McCain - and then criticizes policy.
I predict McCain’s negativity hurts him Tuesday.
Huck did what he had to do tonight... not get beat up bad. Romney would have been better off to not be front and center. If you’re Huck, and you’re sitting there watchin two or three go after Romney.... I think you just let them. Nothing wrong with that strategy.

I have not been a Mitt fan, probably mostly because HH has been so blindly for him.
He’s changed on immigration and on TRTL, and both in the right direction.
That’s ok.
Well, both are articulate, intelligent, and can debate. I just don’t agree with Romney on several issues. So far, the only thing I don’t agree with Fred Thompson about s his desire to “work with the other side” - work together - Kum ba Yah theme - we’ve been down that road before.....(didn’t hear him say that tonight but he has at other times).
I am beginning to think that when Fred gets the nomination, the MSM will still ignore him, call him lazy, and say it is too late for him to catch up.
BTW, did we post a link to watch it online? My kids are insisting on watching a movie instead of demonRATS.

Completely accurate. Romney did not look good at all under fire.
ABC will show more shots of the crowd during the Democrat’s debate, and there will be more people of color,

If it was absolutely imperative that Elian Gonzales be forcibly removed from the US and reunited with his surviving parent in his home country, then it is even more morally and ethically consistent and imperative that the children of illegal aliens be reunited with their parents in their native land...

McCain has a nasty streak; he has practically lived in New Hampshire for the past two years; and he has never gotten over the fact that he lost to GWB. He is probably having flashbacks - seeing another loss - this time to Romney.
McCain was in the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy. Mitt is brilliant. And I bet McCain is as frustrated as hell at these facts of life.
