I am trying to hook a phone line into my DirecTV TIVO box. I have no phone plug in that room or the two adjoining rooms. I don't want to run a wire open from the back rooms to the TIVO box.
Is there such a thing as a wireless phone plug. Anyone recommend a fix?

Others have already shown you your options. A word of warning - if you have DSL and plan to plug a phone line into your DirecTv box, you MUST install a DSL filter on that line. DirecTv box makes electronic noise all the time, and will essentially destroy your DSL connection (personal experience).
No phone with my TIVO, I just connect it to the service using a cord once every few months. Works fine without the nightly calls, except pay for play services won’t work
As others state, a wireless phone jack is available, last time at Home Depot they had one. I was doing house wiring so it’s in that department.
Guy goes to the doctor and says "It hurts when I do this." Doctor says, "Don't do that."

Look on ebay for them to get the best price.
I picked up a brand new set for $25 on ebay less than 2 months ago.
Most all of them are made by RCA but sold under different brand names
They work fine for Satellite receivers.
Yes, you can order PPV without the phone line. You can either call to place the order (with a several dollar surcharge) or on-line (which doesn’t have a surcharge).
BTW...
The brand I bought was a “Phonex” and it works great.
I don’t use PPV because I buy DVD’s instead. Usually the “pre-viewed” DVD’s at Blockbuster for just 2 or 3 for twenty bucks. That way I can watch the movie many times and don’t give money away for nothing................
Or UPLOAD who knows what!.............

You must use a wall electric outlet for both units and not a surge protector strip.
Basically you plug in the wireless receiver to a electrical outlet near an existing phone jack - run a regular phone line plug between the wireless receiver and the existing phone jack. (there is a second phone plug on the wireless receiver that allows you to plug in a phone since you have now taken up the existing phone jack)
Then take your wireless phone outlet and plug it into a electrical wall outlet where you need it (near your TIVO) and plug in a regular phone line between the wireless phone outlet and your Tivo.
Also once you have one wireless receiver you can add several more wireless phone outlet units off one receiver. Typically you get one wireless receiver and one wireless phone outlet with the original purchased set but you can add more wireless phone outlets if you like.
Got it. We’re all set with the electric plugs.
That only works for series 2 TiVo's, the DirecTiVo doesn't support WiFi.
DirecTV is in the process of phasing out their Tivo, it won't support their new HD line-up for example.
That’s cool!
When I bought mine I had no idea I “had” to use wall electrical outlets for both units. I ended up having to put the receiver in a different room than what I had originally planned and I had to make sure I had a free electrical outlet open near the satellite receiver.
(I had planned to plug them into surge protector strips but you cannot do that with them.)
Really... check out eBay for a set or buy it from Dishnetwork for $40. I have seen them listed for $60.00 or more elsewhere.
:-)
Don’t know if it still works this way, but both DirecTV and DISH Network used to use the phone line to upload the information of the PPV movies you purchased through the remote. If you didn’t have a phone line connected you could still buy the movie with the remote but it wouldn’t get uploaded and you wouldn’t get billed. The catch is that the receiver can only hold so many purchases internally before it would fill up and not let you “buy” anymore. Connecting the phone line would perform the upload and clear the internal memory.
Your reply: "I dont use a phone with my DirecTV TIVO box."
So your suggestion is to tell puepleraine not to hook up a phone line because you don't?
