When I bought mine I had no idea I “had” to use wall electrical outlets for both units. I ended up having to put the receiver in a different room than what I had originally planned and I had to make sure I had a free electrical outlet open near the satellite receiver.
(I had planned to plug them into surge protector strips but you cannot do that with them.)
Really... check out eBay for a set or buy it from Dishnetwork for $40. I have seen them listed for $60.00 or more elsewhere.
