Also I wanted to tell you you need a electric outlet near the main phone jack you plan to use for the main wireless base (receiver) and then you need another electric outlet to plug the wireless phone outlet into.

You must use a wall electric outlet for both units and not a surge protector strip.

Basically you plug in the wireless receiver to a electrical outlet near an existing phone jack - run a regular phone line plug between the wireless receiver and the existing phone jack. (there is a second phone plug on the wireless receiver that allows you to plug in a phone since you have now taken up the existing phone jack)

Then take your wireless phone outlet and plug it into a electrical wall outlet where you need it (near your TIVO) and plug in a regular phone line between the wireless phone outlet and your Tivo.

Also once you have one wireless receiver you can add several more wireless phone outlet units off one receiver. Typically you get one wireless receiver and one wireless phone outlet with the original purchased set but you can add more wireless phone outlets if you like.
