IRAQ THANKS BUSH FOR VETOING DEFENSE BILL

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq thanked U.S. President George W. Bush on Thursday for vetoing a defense bill that would have let companies and people win compensation from the new Iraqi government for actions by ousted leader Saddam Hussein.

Bush announced his decision to veto the bill last week, after concluding that the provision allowing lawsuits against Iraq would pose a “grave financial risk” to the country.

“The Iraqi government has expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of President George Bush in using his veto against the congressional bill which would have cancelled the immunity of Iraq,” the Iraqi government said in a statement.

Haven’t watched the caucuses unless a scheduled program is pre-empted...but pretty interesting results from this first caucus.....and not what I expected.

I am glad the Iraqis appreciate what our president has done
since 1/2 his own countrymen don’t either understand it OR appreciate it. God bless the man.

We must remember that visionary leaders are rarely appreciated in their time . . . Fortunately, astute voters like we DOSErs provided the President with the political clout necessary to ‘institutionalize’ his transformational policies, e.g., the Bush Doctrine. History will be VERY kind to President George W Bush!

Yay!

I’ll take a yellow toaster, if you have one, purple if you don’t.

How about GWB in jeans? After the caucus, I’m in a ‘we need a real man’ kind of mood!

History will be VERY kind to President George W Bush!

I sure do hope so...the present has NOT been so kind. I hope that what we have here will help make that possible! We/you all (I am soooo peripheral) have kept copious notes and pictures and records of what all has been accomplished!

It is a nice combo, but I must admit, I love that deep red tie from the picture on New Year’s Day!

SHE (Arwen, as in ‘Arwen’ the elf princess from Lord of the Rings) became our new baby around the 20th of December. She is just the cutest thing and we are spoiling her like crazy.

What a cutie little Arwen is! We have a bunny who visits our yard all the time. He’s gotten so used to us that we can walk around a bit while he’s just eyeing us. He’ll hop away if we get too close, but he usually doesn’t go far, just out of range a bit.
