Watching Fox news and the lead at 3:00 PM EST, was a rant by Shepherd and Carl, saying how Iowa doesn't matter, as Roger Ailes and Fox News spent millions covering it.
I guess Roger & Co, at Fox will not like the results(Huckabee and Obama winning and getting momentum).
Roger Ailes and his friend Rush Limbaugh, are not amused, thus this little hissy fit.
No. Dean was supposed to, but Kerry won and Dean blew up in the famous Scream.
Thanks. This is helpful.
I don’t really remember Kerry struggling much after he won Iowa. Where was he struggling and facing possible defeat and loss of nomination?
The front loading of primaries was initially orchestrated by Clinton Inc. to get them done and over with, out of the way, so Hillary could then just roll on into the general election after an early coronation and no messy battles in a longer primary process.
You being delusional or not is still up for debate.
But Fox News and Hannity's ultra ass kissing, praising as if he was God himself support for Rudy is beyond sickening.
Sounds like Hillary on innumberable things from her campaign.
Well I didn't know about it. I had no knowledge of that. I didn't authorize that. I would be surprised to learn that. I didn't know that. I only learned about it when I read it in the paper.
Yes, Hunter is the conservative in the mix.
Limbaugh got his butt kicked by a Huckabee supporter on the radio today. He ended up having to cut the guy off. I dont even like Huckabee, but Im enjoying seeing the GOP establishment freaking out.
Yes, and telling us since the summer that we have to choose one of his 3 choices, and that the other guys should just drop out.
Does he really imagine he has that kind of persuasive power?
If that's the case, why did the Dems vote to move the date up?
What would be the point in Huckabee wanting to pick a fight with Rush for no reason just when he had taken over the # 1 spot in Iowa (IF you believe the polls) and had begun to move in the national polling? Makes absolutely no sense to me. What is deliberately alienating Rush going to get him?
Think about this... why would huck email him an apology if it didn’t happen. huck lies... you bought the lie. He probably ordered the attack himself. He also tried to spin his son murdering the dog as a humane killing. I would always prefer to be hung, throat slit and pummeled by rocks until dead... as long as it was “humane”. Also, I trust Rush to tell the truth and huckster is a known liar. Words and deeds have consequences... and huck's deeds are coming home to roost!

I’m glad. Take care.
That is tinfoil thinking to the max.
You could be right about Rush seizing the opportunity to say what he’s been thinking about Huckabee. Which is: he maybe a Christian, he may even be a nice enough guy, but he is no conservative.
But to go to the GOP ruse theory, that’s just paranoid.
Fox news has mostly ignored Fred Thompson, but maybe they honestly consider him an outlier as they do Duncan Hunter.
But I have no doubt that he is Rush’s candidate of choice and I wish Rush would come out.
By the way, I don’t know why the poster wrote Roger Ailes and his friend Rush...
Is there some substance to that? I’ve never heard any. Not that there’s anything wrong with having a conservative friend.
You are thinking statically. The polls don’t mean squat. We found that out in 2004. What happened was the Dean/Gephardt catfight benefited Kerry/Edwards at the very last minute, and the polls seriously lagged that shift.
We have the same thing going on now between Romney/Huckabee. If the race goes from Huckabee/Romney at 32/26 in the last DM Register poll, respectively, to say 26/24 on caucus nite, that shift could easily put Thompson in the 20% range if he’s the benefactor of that meltdown. I’m not even worried about him reaching 20% if the spread is less than 10 points. I don’t care if he’s in fourth place at that point. What I care is if he’s in the pack.
Why would Fred benefit the most? A Huckabee win in IA damages Romney. Then we go to NH. It looks like a McCain will win there. That damages Romney more. Romney will likely win in Michigan. That would fend off McCain a bit unless McCain is a close second. But how much momentum will that give him back to what he’s lost?
Where’s Huck in all this? He’s got a two front war with Romney and McCain if McCain wins NH and Romney MI. Huckabee’s got to be in the hunt to keep his rivals from coming into SC with too much momentum and him having none at all. The reason for that is with a first in the first contest is that it increases expectations. If he doesn’t do well in the next two contests, he looks like a flash in a pan and could literally be whipsawed out of the race. It’s not the first time that’s happened. And he has a poor ground game, he’s going to need money to get one, and he’s got to keep winning.
Then we go to SC. If Fred’s in the pack in Iowa, he’ll get a bump, some money and media. He should run straight to SC/FL and concentrate there. Why not NH and MI? It’s to Thompson’s benefit to let those three duke it out for awhile and knock each other off while he concentrates on SC/FL.
Why? If Huckabee flops, Thompson will benefit. If Romney flops Thompson will benefit. If McCain comes out on top going into SC Thompson will really be sitting good. I don’t see Romney people going to Huckabee, or Huckabee people going to Romney, and I see either going to McCain. In either scenario I see the remaining voters breaking more to Thompson than anyone else.
That’s why I see a Huckabee win in Iowa helpful to Fred. It potentially starts a chain reaction that in the end could benefit Fred the most. Meanwhile it keeps him in the race, will give him some money and media, and buys him some time. Time to let his opponents damage each other while he builds his campaign and maneuvers into a position him to take advantage of damaged opponents coming into SC, which as you said is where he wanted to make his stand anyway.
Fred Thompson will be on Mark Levin today! GO FRED! Then this evening Jeri Thompson will be on On The Record with Greta on Fox. :)
thanks, both should be interesting to see and hear.
McCain winning would help Thompson IMO. I don’t see Romney/Huckabee voters going to McCain. I don’t see McCain doing so well in the south either. I would love it if he won NH/MI.
Rudy’s out. I don’t see how the media can pimp him for Super Tuesday if he’s got nothing by then, and I don’t see him getting anything.
Oh yes, I am waiting for the Rapture tommorrow night too!
