I predict headlines shouting about great surprises (in other words, same as always).

Let’s hope Thompson comes in at #2.

Fred Thompson will do better than expected as people realize that competence at campaigning doesn’t translate into competence at governing.

I’d say you’re both about right...I see Romney winning Iowa, Huckabee in second, and Thompson third. But where the race goes from there, who could say?

I agree with your predictions on the Republican side. However, I believe the Clinton machine will work overtime and Hillary will either win or lose by a point. Edwards will get about 23% with the rest of the field scoring in the low single digits.

Iowa has the 15% rule in effect on the Democrat side.

I think it will be a sneaker for Fred and we will see something more like this: (Thinking of the people of Iowa and how they think — from Nebraska here.)
Fred Thompson
Duncan Hunter
Rudy Giuliani
Mitt Romney
Mike Huckabee

I see that you agree with my analysis that with all the bad press and carping, George Bush won't win this caucus, and his chances for winning the Presidency are slim indeed.
But don't let the Dems know...

I agree with you on the dimocrats:
Edwards
Obama
Clinton
Depending on who stuffs the caucus rooms........LOL!
BTW, just an observation on my part as a former child-care provider: Hill cannot provide childcare unless she has a 5 to one (child to adult) ration and even three to one (if toddlers are involved.) She is taking a great risk at not obeying state and federal guidelines for childcare if they do have babysitting tonight.

For all intents and purposes, I agree with your predictions. I think the Dem race will be closer percentage-wise.
