Hillary: Pakistan troops might have killed Bhutto

CLINTON, Iowa - Hillary Rodham Clinton waded into Pakistan's volatile internal political situation Saturday, raising the possibility the country's military might have assassinated Benazir Bhutto because the killing took place in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.

Clinton's remarks came as Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's government seemed to reject a call for an independent international investigation of the murder that Clinton and John Edwards proposed on Friday.

During a question-and-answer session at an elementary school here, Clinton offered a detailed prescription for the troubled country, suggesting that the U.S divert aid away from its military to social welfare programs.

And for the second time in as many days, she cast doubt on Musharraf's contention that the suicide bombing that led to the death of the country's most popular opposition leader was masterminded by al-Qaida.

"There are those saying that al-Qaida did it. Others are saying it looked like it was an inside job -- remember Rawalpindi is a garrison city," she said.

Earlier in the day, the former first lady sat down with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos and said that, as president, it wouldn't be "appropriate" for her to include Bill Clinton in top-secret security discussions.

Hillary Rodham Clinton ... raising the possibility the country's military might have assassinated Benazir Bhutto

No US political candidate should be making that kind of idle speculation. If Clinton has proprietary information about the Bhutto attack, she should take it to the proper governmental agency. She should not be such remarks in at a political rally.

This is beyond irresponsible.

The cohesiveness of the Pakistani military is all that stands bwtn the world and a nuclear conflict in Southeast Asia.

The street can riot and loot all they want, so long as the Pakistan military sticks together. If we start to see signs of fractures in the military leadership (which, Thank God, I haven’t seen any yet) then this will make events like the Cuban missile crisis and 9-11 look like childs play.

Excuse me .. WHAT THE HECK IS THIS IDIOT DOING ..??

She wants to be president, but she’s buying into name-calling and gossip ..??

THIS IS TERRIBLE OF HER TO SUGGEST SUCH A THING ON A PUBLIC STAGE. While she may believe it to be so .. this does terrible damage to Bush’s abillity to deal with this situation [which may be her goal]. Her statement says WE DON’T TRUST MUSCHARFF - and maybe we don’t .. but it’s irresponsible to put it out there in the public arena.

This is just so CLINTONIAN - it’s just more of the politics of personal destruction. Typically, democrats believe they can create all kinds of havoc and FIX it when they get in office. This little ploy is not working anymore.

I hope somebody has guts enough to call her on it.

Sweet, your thighness, throw some gasoline on the fire. Smooth move. Ah, but tell us the truth, you’re scared spitless that you will take over with that problem unsolved so you’re trying to make it go critical on Bush’s watch, right?

Hillary will not capitulate... no never. She may be destroyed, but if she is, she will drag a world with her... a world in flames.

(and yes, I was very intentional on the source of the quote I modified and attributed to her plans.)

I wouldn’t be so sure she is just pandering to the conspiracy nuts. Her comments, while irresponsibile, may be on the $$. Its no secret that Bhutto and Musharaff didn’t exactly see eye to eye and she was probably the only viable candidate that would challenge him in an election.

I think she is trying to marginalize al-Qaida by blaming their terrorist acts on others (i.e. Musharraf). If al-Qaida terrorism because a big campaign issue, it will help Republicans. She is willing to sacrifice the stability of Pakistan if it would help her become President.

Bhutto's assassination."

Check it out. She has those kinds of eyeballs where you can see the whites of her eyes all the way around her pupils.

One of the physical indicators of an insane person.

(The astronaut chick has them too.)

She must be defeated at all costs. We can’t afford her so called “insight” on the global stage. She puts our soldiers in harm’s way in even more danger.

Her husband’s claim-to-fame was that he would never pin the 1993 WTC, Khobar Towers, Kenya & Tanzania Embassy, and U.S.S. Cole attacks on bin Laden. He even turned down taking custody of him several times. So why is the she-devil so quick to pin the blame on the Pakistani military? It’s nice to see she’s trying to mend our relationship with the rest of the world ;-P

"She didn't even know that Benazir Bhutto's father was hung not assassinated as she stated."

And during her first Senate campaign, she misidentified Harriet Tubman as Sojourner Truth. It looks as if the smartest woman in the world doesn't do her homework before opening her big, fat mouth.

Did Hildebeast just pull an all-nighter with Huma, so she got up feeling good-lookin' and very powerful? Then the Beast thought, "Perhaps I'll see if I can completely destabilize a country with my words."

My dog has a higher IQ than this evil beotch.

I don't think the Smartest Woman in the World is all that smart.

Listening to her speak without notes, on any subject, removes all doubt. Mediocre intellect from a grade-inflated kiddie college, an affirmative-action admit to an over-rated law school. And it's been downhill from there.
