Modern Conservative ^ | Christopher Cook

ModernConservative.com has received a tip from a reliable source that may have election-shattering implications.

According to our source, an activist here in Arizona has been approached by the Ron Paul campaign; the campaign has requested that he run the Arizona effort to get Ron Paul on the general election ballot as a candidate of the Constitution Party.

Our source has requested anonymity, and we have agreed. We can, however, vouch for his/her general reliability. Our source also provided us with details that added credibility to the account. (Unfortunately, disclosure of those details would put at risk our promise of anonymity. We apologize for the unnamed sourcing and lack of further details, but those were the requirements that accompanied this revelation.)

We will keep you apprised of any new developments.

There has been a lot of analysis on the impact that Ron Paul has already had, and on the impact that he might...

Right! And I'm awaiting for Ron Paul's statement on the assassination of Benazir Bhutto....I guess Ron Paul would do nothing while Pakistan's nukes get transferred to Al Qaeda.

It's because of our occupation of Afghanistan. Never any problems in that part of the world till we arrived. Once we leave, everywhere, the world will be a peaceful place. No more Korean, Japanese or German suicide bombers once we leave.

"If Hunter doesn’t win the nomination, I’ll write him in in the general."

And split the conservative vote even further huh?

“You know if we united behind one Republican we could still win... oh perish the thought..”

Which one?

“RINOs need to be taught a lesson otherwise they’ll take over the party...”

They already have.

” I will not vote for (insert RINO name here) no matter what! I didn’t leave the party the party left me. Bwahahahaha”

Damn right - I for one don’t want to be told on this forum, like I have been about Bush - “You knew what you were voting for.” when complaining about his open borders policies, or big government solutions.

Screw that.

“So who will Hillary’s Secretary of State be?”

Condi Rice?

Why does it matter? It’s a snakes pit whose policies took over the Bush admin.

“Will she create a new cabinet position? How about her first and maybe second Supreme Court nominee?”

Worse than Harriet Miers?

That has been the plan all along. Hillary needs her Ross Perot.

I agree. The Trump Card is being played early, because Chillary is such a bad candidate. In addition, most of the Repos are such an obvious collection of Globalist candidates, that the Repos are vulnerable to apathy. Chillary could become President with less than 40 pecent of the vote.

How about her first and maybe second Supreme Court nominee?

If Hillary is the next President she will absolutely appoint two Supremes in her first term. Stevens and Ginsburg will retire if they get Hillary.

Thank you, big.

I am guilty of participating in our destruction ONCE...in that I am one of the fools who voted for Perot once.

I LEARNED MY LESSON!

For the safety of our Nation, I adamantly hope that others can be more intelligent than I, and they can LEARN FROM THE MISTAKES OF OTHERS!!

No doubt, RP is an idiot in foreign affairs, why would the Constitution party rally around a clown?

Because they're both on the same page. It's a perfect fit.

The Constitution Party on the War on Terror

Terrorism and Personal Liberty

America is engaged in an undeclared war with an ill-defined enemy (terrorism), a war which threatens to be never ending, and which is being used to vastly expand government power, particularly that of the executive branch, at the expense of the individual liberties of the American people.

The "war on terrorism" is serving as an excuse for the government to spend beyond its income, expand the Federal bureaucracy, and socialize the nation through taxpayer bailouts of the airlines, subsidies to the giant insurance corporations, and other Federal programs.

We deplore and vigorously oppose legislation and executive action, that deprive the people of their rights secured under the Fourth and Fifth Amendments under the guise of "combating terrorism" or "protecting national security." Examples of such legislation are the National Security Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the proposed Domestic Securities Enhancement Act (colloquially known as "Patriot II").

The National Security Act is used by the federal government as a shroud to prevent the American people and our elected officials from knowing how much and where our tax dollars are spent from covert operations around the world. The National Security Act prevents the release of Executive Orders and Presidential Decision Directives, e.g., PDD 25, to the American people and our elected representatives. Not only are many of these used to thwart justice in the name of national security, but some of the operations under this act may threaten our very national sovereignty.

The USA PATRIOT Act permits arrests without warrants and secret detention without counsel, wiretaps without court supervision, searches and seizures without notification to the individual whose property is invaded, and a host of other violations of the legal safeguards our nation has historically developed according to principles descending from the Fourth and Fifth Amendments.

Since we will no longer have a free nation while the federal government (or the governments of the several states, as the federal government may authorize) can violate our historic rights under such laws, we call for the rejection of all such laws and the ceasing of any such further proposals including the aforementioned Domestic Securities Enhancement Act.

The Constitution Party is unalterably opposed to the criminal acts of terrorists, and their organizations, as well as the governments which condone them. Individuals responsible for acts of terrorism must be punished for their crimes, including the infliction of capital punishment where appropriate. In responding to terrorism, however, the United States must avoid acts of retaliation abroad which destroy innocent human lives, creating enmity toward the United States and its people; and

In accord with the views of our Founding Fathers, we must disengage this nation from the international entanglements which generate foreign hatred of the United States, and are used as the excuse for terrorist attacks on America and its people. The 'war on terrorism" is not a proper excuse for perpetual U.S. occupation of foreign lands, military assaults on countries which have not injured us, or perpetual commitment of taxpayer dollars to finance foreign governments.

Peroutka’s Plan for Iraq
April 16, 2004

"I like President Bush personally. He is a sincere man. I respect his office. But, it is becoming painfully obvious that he has no plan to get our country out of the un-Constitutional, bloody, deadly, mess going on in Iraq. In fact, Mr. Bush and John Kerry both favor putting more troops into Iraq. In his recent press conference, Mr. Bush said our troops would be in Iraq 'as long as necessary,' 'for a while,' until Iraq is 'a free country.' He said Iraqis would provide their own security 'eventually.' I strongly disagree. As President, I would move immediately to withdraw all our troops from Iraq in a way that would provide for the safety of those Iraqis who worked with us during this illegal, wrong-headed war.

"I, like President Bush, hope that the Iraqi people, and all people, will be free from tyranny. But, unlike President Bush, I realize that, Constitutionally, as President, it would not be my job to use our military to spread 'freedom' everywhere in the world. Unlike President Bush, I, as President, would realize that I had been elected President of the United States, not President of the World.

"In 1821, John Quincy Adams said, of America:

'She goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.'

But, ignoring Adams' wise advice, President Bush, using our military, has gone abroad and destroyed the monster Saddam Hussein who posed no threat to the vital national security interests of our country. The result: We are bogged down in a bloody and expensive mess with no end in sight. If elected President, however, I would move immediately to end our involvement in Iraq. I am not one who believes that when you are in a hole you should not be in, you should keep digging. "

For God, Family and the Republic,

Michael A. Peroutka

----------------------

Withdraw from Iraq-no democracy through warfare
Should the United States withdraw its troops from Iraq? A: Yes.

Peroutka says, "Article I.8 of the US Constitution does not grant to Congress the power of "nation-building." If I am elected President, no longer will these United States seek regime change nor the concept of spreading democracy through warfare, and the children within these United States will not be committed to engage in a war to `free' any people."

No, it’s simply that this info is of such a nature that confirmation (i.e. other sources) is needed.

The Republican party does advance my agenda. They do still win elections. I have hope with them. With the CP there is no hope. They are parasites.

George W. Bush is gone, too. Apparently that zot the other night was a zot of the permanent kind.

That's what happens when you start telling jimRob how to run the place.

And unlike the Libertarian Party (both could run him as a candidate) the CP has enough nutball positions

Well I'm a small-l libertarian and I have to disagree with you on this. I think the LP is a lot kookier than the CP.

the Constitution is based on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we're a Christian country which in the past and present (no mention of future) has granted asylum to non-Christians

Way to selectively edit the CP's platform. Wow.

Hahaaha - Hillary will get 2 Supreme Court nominees immediately as Stevens and Ginsberg will retire. You’re going to wish it was Harriet Myers... Every election it’s the same thing... a choice between the lesser of two evils - that’s a Republic for you, if you can keep it. If you really feel there’s no difference between the parties, I’d recommend you not bother voting.

Paul haters

I don't hate Ron Paul. I just think voting for a guy who hangs with, helps and encourages Truthers has as much to do with conservatism and libertarianism as socialized medicine does.

If Hunter doesn’t win the nomination, I’ll write him in in the general.

Which of the Dem candidates are you willing to help by doing that?

If Hunter doesn’t win the nomination, I’ll write him in in the general.

The trick is to get enough folks to do it for him to WIN! Otherwise it only serves to split the Republican vote. That hands it to Hillary by default.

I have not participated in very many Ron Paul threads over the last year. I have to admit I am very frustrated with this "Paul supporters are told his support comes from the left" routine that it seems is the extent of his supporters political analysis abilities. I have asked two of them a couple of very simple questions (below). I find it VERY interesting that they refuse to answer these questions. The only conclusion I can draw is that they hate their country as much as the liberals do, desire its destruction, and will gleefully participate in bringing it down.

To Ron Paul supporters: Now how about giving me YOUR perspective on these questions (as opposed to what other Freepers have said): Will Ron Paul win? Will Ron Paul draw his support (votes, not financial) from libertarians and conservatives or liberals?
