Atheism is a religion. Wawa can make demands all day that her atheism has rights. Only Christianity has no rights. Christians are supposed to give is sway to any and every other religion on the planet. It’s only Christianity that gets the boot. Ever other religion gets to make demands and say or do any of their religious things in public and it’s right as rain. The rat is getting to smell really bad. It’s time to take our freedom back.
Did anyone watch the sham on CNN last night, in which they devoted an hour show to pretending that Hilary, Obama and Edwards are deeply religious? Yet republicans are villified for being religious. The program was frightening in its deception. Like Hilary being asked a soft ball question about pro and anti abortion groups finding “common ground” and Hilary pretending she somehow opposes abortions, all to thunderous applause for every evasive non-answer.
No reason not too...
But - the Huckster attempted to deny a deliberate attempt to manipulate the image of a cross through his entire ad..
He asked folks to believe it was unintentional...
He CLEARLY LIED........
That is the REAL problem, and he and his followers are trying to spin it as a problem with religion in a Christmas message from a politician...
I find Atheists offensive, can I have them removed??
Pray for W and Our Troops
Yes and Hunter is the best choice.
invoking Christ’s name
Around Christmas, just about every body that believes, invokes His name every day, the Bible says that if you are ashamed of Him, He will be ashamed of you, personally I invoke His name every day.
When and if Huckabee gets through the Republican Primary, we can start to worry about what Democrats and liberals think about his manipulative use of an "accidental" bookcase to insert a cross into his advertisement and his subsequent self-serving and condescending lies.
But right now, since we are in the primaries, we have to be concerned about how Republicans feel about a supposed "Christian Leader" who doesn't have to guts to be forthright in his use of the Cross and denies the Cross, even three times in a single night.
So when Huckabee supporters repeatedly try to change the subject and make this a matter of freedom of religious expression, they are being disingenuous and manipulative (again!).
Huckabee supporters do not want to pick one. The first one makes Huckabee look stupid and the second one makes him look like a self-promoting hustler who will exploit Christian symbols for his own gain and then lie about it.
Now I, for one, don't think Huckabee is stupid. I think he thinks we're pretty stupid, however.
With all due respect, Mr. Robinson, may I suggest you look again? I think you will find very few people here are upset about First Amendment protected speech. The folks who are upset here are upset because Huckabee is exploiting the Cross of Christ symbols without having the courage to be forthright about it and then denying his actions.
And, let me add, that I have the utmost respect for you and admire what you have done in creating this forum.
Exactly who's role are you casting Huckabee into? Are you sure you want to do that?
They can go pound sand.
It's in the penumbras or the emanations, I forget which. 'belive it's also one of the racially conditioned rights.
I find nbc offensive.
If you really believe that a bookcase is a symbol of Christianity, then you need help my friend....
I find some offensive. (And no, I'm not for Huckabee)
I have accepted that some people cannot see the obvious, and that the shot was intentionally manipulated to insert the Cross using the "accidental" bookcase in the background. I am not sure how they can not see it, but they maintain that they can not, and I have no choice but to accept that.
It is abundantly clear to me, though. And now the Huckabee supporters are trying to stir up trouble between religious folks and secular society in order to cover his butt. It reminds me of the times when another Arkansas huckster threw Thomas Jefferson, FDR and Martin Luther King Jr. down the stairs by bringing up their marital infidelities in order to protect himself from his own discretions.
Some folks are willing to do any amount of damage in order to advance themselves. We don't need another man like that in the White House.
Huck’s fine, but I don’t see a place for an “NBC”...
Apparantly so. Rush hit it on the head with the “identity politics” thing. People are saying “he’s a Christian, so I like him.” Dolts.
