Ron PaulPots' MoveOn/GeorgeSoros Support!

Desperate to take support from wherever he can get it.

Some - well more like all of two readers have gotten a little cross-eyed over the fact that I dared to imply that George Soros/MoveOn forces were working covertly to assist the most Soros-like candidate on the GOP ticket.

The truth is some of the support has been covert, some of it rather obvious...

For instance one MoveOn group assisted in the funding and production of this television ad:

“The bastards who attacked us could care less about our freedom. They wanted to preserve their own slavery and get us the hell out of their own hell hole. They’re essentially finished.”

Make up your mind, either you believe Bin Laden when he condemned our way of life or you do not.

“There are reasonable people in those countries who are more than willing to do business with us.”

Chamberlain said essentially the same thing back in the ‘30s.

“We do not have to set up democracies and introduce Hollywood to their way of life in order to conduct affairs with them.”

I thought Ron Paul was all in favor of trading with any one. Are you saying we should embargo our movies and TV programs? Just because some fruitcake in a cave in Afghanistan finds them offensive? Is that the libertarian view?

“Your ignorance and unwillingness to discusses possible causes for their attacks does not make me an expert on foreign policy. It just reveals you as one who is afraid to ask hard questions regarding our conduct as a nation among others who are less blessed than we.”

The ‘hard question’ that needs to be answered is why do you think our policy should be dictated by some fruitcake living in a cave in Afghanistan?

“For crying out loud. Did you even bother to read the statements from Bin Laden declaring precisely why he deems himself our enemy?”

He declared war on his. Good enough for me.

“If so, you must be like those judges of who discover an emanation of a penumbra in the Constitution guaranteeing the right for a mother to kill her unborn child.”

At least I don’t belive that whether a mother can kill her child should be left up to the states.

“These people are decidedly not our enemies just because we are a free people. They are our enemies because people like you, out of ignorance, want to step into their world and stomp on their way of life because you know so much better than they what is right for them. No better, really, than a huge government of liberal nannies who want to run other people’s lives from birth till death.”

We ‘stepped into their world” after they attacked us. If our response is your idea of being a ‘liberal nanny’, then sign me up.

“And of course Iran’s leaders won’t take it the wrong way when we wage war against them by proxy.”

The only thing these mad-mullahs care about is how to get nuclear weapons so they can restore the caliphate, bring back the Iman, and instigate Armageddon. Why should I care what they think?

“And they are getting their fuel from Russia under IAEA control. President Bush accepted it and even had to offer faint praise for it.”

What makes you think they will live up to their bargain to return the rods?

“And Iran is building a second nuclear plant, again undermining the nukes program since they would have needed only one plant for that.”

I’m supposed to be releaved that they will be able to make twice as many nuclear weapons?

“But apparently you know so much more about it than our president and national security establishment that I can’t argue with you.”

I’ll put you down as a recent convert to compassionate conservatism.

We "stepped into their world" after they attacked us.

On the contrary, we've been sticking our nose into their business for well over three decades. Is that they way you treat your neighbor? March into his home and tell him how to live? Would you expect your neighbor to welcome your advances?

Several of your bullet points are fatal positions for a survivalists, but for a Congressman to hold such positions such as destroying the US Military and national security, well that puts him closer to Cindy Sheehan than George Washington.

I’ll put you down as a recent convert to compassionate conservatism.

I was never "compassionate" which is mealy-mouthed talk for someone who wants to be elected as a conservative but who wants to rule as a liberal.

You should go hide under your bed. I heard the mullahs are in your area, planning to sneak into your house and try to steal your Xbox and pork rinds.

Since you were using George Bush, the president, to bolster your argument, I assumes you’d converted to compassionate conservatism. (ie, an attempt at humor, I thought you might be amused.)

In 1923 and even 1933 the nazis were only in Germany, al-qaeda is in several countries all over the world.

No mass appeal? Wow! All over the middle east, parts of South America, and Indonesia...

Well, I did vote for GWB in 2000 finally. I swore I wouldn't, finally did. Gore was too disgusting to consider. Buchanan's campaign was just incompetent. Didn't care much for what the LP and CP were offering that year. I voted for someone on the CP ticket in 2004 though. I couldn't endorse that kind of reckless spending that had ruined the fine record our GOP House had in reducing the deficit and even some debt in the pre-Bush era. As I mentioned at the time, if we kept voting for that we would vote ourselves out of all three branches. Well, we lost two in 2006. And we're up to lose three in 2008 if we don't return to genuine conservative principles. And we can't apologize for them either. We have to be bold and confident, not just Dim-lite scalawags.

I couldn’t agree more which is why I’ve not disclosed who I support. To be honest, I’m just not too thrilled with the choices.

Al Qaeda in Iraq exists. What’s Ron Paul’s plan for dealing with them?

Good question. Paul wasn't President from 2001 - 2009. So why is Al Qaeda still existing?

Because they still have fighters at large.

Paul-haters? That sounds so Clintonesque. No, I am not a Ron Paul hater; I am a Ron Paul mocker. To consider this man as the commander in chief during a time when Iran is getting closer and closer to having a nuke is unthinkable. Yes, I appreciate his stong position in defense of the Constitution. Unfortunately, he can’t be trusted to defend this country from our enemies. This is not 1807. It is 2007, and oceans don’t protect us anymore.

So the group agrees with his stance on the war--something I think any anti-war group would do, whatever their reason for disagreeing with the war. I have heard his disagreements are primarily isolationist ones with a solid foundation in Constitutional principle and the founders' ideas.

I, personally, do not believe we can get away with a militarily isolationist stance at this phase of operations, frankly, I think it would be disastrous.

Note: they are joining in support of him, not the other way around.

If they support him, that does not mean that he supports them. The concept is as basic as unrequited love, yet none seem to get it.

You and your ilk would lead this country into the pit of hell in order to further vague ideological goals.

Says the person who embraces legislation like the Patriot Act, etc. The same legislation that was reviled on this site when Clinton wanted it.

I think the psychological term for what you are doing is called "projection."
