Barbara Walters likes to receive Christmas greetings from high-profile celebrities and leaders, but apparently not if they refer to the Bible.
On Thursdays episode of ABCs The View, Walters expressed dismay that President and Mrs. Bush would send out greetings containing Scripture.
During the segment, Walters showed the other gals some of the highfalutin Christmas cards, and explained the White House card:
First of all, let me show you the cover of the White House, which is nice and bland So thats pleasant enough. This is what interested me, that it is a religious Christmas card. Usually in the past when I have received a Christmas card, its been happy holidays and so on- And this says:
You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You gave life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.
Thats from Nehemiah in the Old Testament. I dont remember and Im sure people will remind megetting a religious card. Now does this also go to agnostics and atheists and Muslims and
Moderator Whoopie Goldberg and co-host Sherri Shepherd tried to steer clear of controversy by joking that the Scriptures were about Walters, but Walters persisted in her critique, asking, Dont you think its a little interesting that the president of all the people is sending out a religious Christmas card?
Walters showed her co-hosts a Christmas card from Elton John and his partner David Furnish that had angels on the cover. She didnt have similar concerns over the religious imagery as she did about the Scripture printed in the White House card.
Co-host Joy Behar pointed out to Walters that Elton Johns card was religious, and Walters responded, But it doesnt say anything religious. It says Seasons Greetings.
Later in the show Walters did say, By the way, I dont want to put down the President of the United States and his wife. I think its very nice that they sent me a Christmas card.
Christmas greetings can be sent to Barbara Walters at the following address. CMI asks that Christmas greetings be worded in the spirit of the season.

...Just what is it about God that gets these people's knickers in such a twist?! Is Christmas nothing more than a shopping season to them?
Makes me even happier I no longer watch Network television, and especially The View, which is rather one sided politically and culturally.
just some idiot tryin to make a ass of herself ah i mean a name fer herself haha
LOL
Her funeral mass should turn out to be interesting since the bitch has issues with a “Christmas” card biblical passage.
So, Mizz Walters is offended by a supposed “Super Christian” card with an actual scripture in it. Funny, how still to this day, there are those that feel threatened by anything that’s perceived to be pertaining to Christ. I guess the first crucifixion wasn’t enough for some.
Actually, I find this incident rather humorous and ironic because even though the intention of the card may have been to look genuinely “Christian” or customary, I don’t think this is the case at all. Nowhere in the greeting does it use the term “Christmas” or even a well-wish for a “Happy New Year”. There is a “Holiday tree” in the window but nothing else that would allude to the birth of Christ or be cause for a celebration.
Remember that the person who sent this belongs to “The Order of Skull and Bones” cult, and who once said publicly, “it’s so secret I can’t even talk about it.”
So when the reference is made to worshiping the “Lord”, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that he’s not talking about the entity that the majority of Christians revere. If I’m wrong about that, then one thing’s for sure - Bush is one of the biggest hypocrites that’s ever walked the face of the Earth.
Mizz Walters makes the statement, Dont you think its a little interesting that the president of all the people is sending out a religious Christmas card?
Yes, I find it very interesting Mizz Walters, but the real question here is, “which religion is he referring to?”
With no intention to blatantly self-promote, a line from a recent song I wrote comes to mind, in reference to Mister Bush, titled “Taming the Beast”.
“We’ve got to stop it now, the Beast is running free, it’s not the Holy man it pretends to be.”
And thus she should shut her fat ugly trap in matters that do not pertain to her.
I don't tell her and her people how to celebrate Purim.
Personally, I like the fact the President and First Lady mocked Walters in this manner.
I just got finished sending our company Christmas cards out, and took some delight in mailing ones to our competitors....(chuckle)
The fact Walters then made it public is hilariously funny.
The fact she doesn’t ‘get it’ is down right fall on the floor funny.
The card is tasteful, as is everything else Laura Bush has done in the White House. I watched HGTV last evening and they showed the WH being decorated for Christmas. It is magnificent. Anyone who gets a chance should go to see “Our House” done up for the Holidays. Laura and the Staff have outdone themselves this year, with the theme of “National Parks and Seashores”.
Then why did she request one?
I know, my wife got one.
Forgot to say:
“You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You gave life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.”
This scripture is in keeping with this year’s Christmas theme, which is the natural beauty of our country and its vast and diverse wilderness areas.
Bubby Wawa is just too ignorant and lowbrow to understand that.
Babs must have alzheimer's. She doesn't even remember where the celebration of Christmas came from.
Barbara Walters: How long is that old witch and Ted Kennedy going to live?
Vampires don’t like to see the cross either.
This old washed-up TV personality got her job only because she is female. She has absolutely nothing important to say to anyone.
She’s offended by the President sending a card with Bible verses!
I’ll bet she isn’t offended by head-choppings of Jews conducted with religious ditties playing in the background and filmed for all to see.
.
With as much consternation as it caused, next year they oughta send her two with extensive verses.
That really ought to make her day!!!
Thats complete Bravo Sierra. Baba Wawa likes to get Christmas cards from high profile celebrities, and like all liberals, she likes to whine and b!tch about everything under the sun. This gave her a chance to do both of those things, and say to her audience, "look at me, I'm important".
What a freakin, disgusting libtard.
See a speach therapist Baba. You make millions of dollars a year. What are you waiting for? Free Healthcare?
Stupid liberals are a dime a dozen.
President and Laura Bush have always sent out Christmas cards with scripture readings in them.
I know because I have one from every year except 2004.
