Sri Lanka Sank 6 N. Korean Ships Carrying Weapons between this Feb. and Oct.
12/14/2007

/begin my summary
- Six N. Korean ships were sunk by Sri Lankan Navy between Feb. 28 and late October of this year.
- They were shipping weapons for Tamil Tigers, which were designated as a terrorist organization by U.S. State Dept.
- Both N. Korean crews and Tamil terrorists were aboard the ships. They were all presumed to be killed.
- Sri Lankan Navy was able to sink them with the help of U.S., which passed on intelligence on the location of (N. Korean) ships in advance
- It is estimated that the repeated loss of the ships cost N. Korea $200 million.
- The ships were 250 ft long, carrying Chinese artillery guns, ammunition, light weapons, and small arms.
- Chinese arms manufacturer NORINCO has been selling weapons to N. Korea. However, it is not clear where the weapons on board originated.
- As of Dec. 13, State Dept. is still standing by their official position that N. Korea has not engaged in terrorist activities since 1987.

Didn't have the time to translate the full article written in Korean. However, these are the major points.

I don’t know about last night, but here’s someone with LTTE ties:
WASHINGTON — Chicago congressman Danny Davis and an aide took a trip to Sri Lanka last year that was paid for by the Tamil Tigers, a group that the U.S. government has designated as a terrorist organization for its use of suicide bombers and child soldiers, law enforcement sources said.-—— “ Congressman’s trip tied to group U.S. considers terrorists,”

Both N. Korean crews and Tamil terrorists were aboard the ships. They were all presumed to be killed. Sri Lanka is a poor country. They can't afford their own off shore paradise for captured terrorists. I guess some people could look at the bright side though - at least none of the terrorists were water boarded.

What other sneaky attacks on the US and others do you have up your sleeve? I'm sure we will know soon enough!

Like the IAF taking out the NK Nuke plant in Syria with US help, the story on this too will have to be suppressed by official channels.
The usual reactionary treason of MSN and DNC political opportunism would only hurt the mission if it became clearly substantiated.
Sad that winning the GWOT and protecting America has to be done on the sly.
Did I say sad?
I meant sick.

Every N. Korean ship should be stopped an inspected,,or sunk by USN until we are certain that they aren’t carrying weapons to terrorists. I’m sure the were acting as middle men between Chicoms and Tamils to make a buck.

Some battles, yes, but China’s “on the sly” war still rages.

Good job, thanks for the translation and post.
Gotta wonder why the U.S> hasn’t taken credit for any of this?

Makes sense and there is no doubt who the good guys are.
Still the Dems have called W every nasty thing but a pirate.
Now Harry and Nancy may get their chance in spite of the facts—as usual.Blackbeard Bush it will be—assaulting leaky junks crewed by brave peasant sailors trying to transport humanitarian supplies to the oppressed freedom fighters of old Ceylon.
To: TigerLikesRooster
Ships this large would be carrying enough people that out of six boats sunk, somebody would have been able to swim away. This says to me either the Ceylonese navy is being thorough and making sure there are no survivors; or the North Koreans are committing suicide rather then be captured.
Thinking back on the various incidents with North Korean smugglers being sunk by Australia, Japan, and South Korea, I don’t ever recall hearing of a survivor.

"I guess some people could look at the bright side though - at least none of the terrorists were water boarded." I guess they call their method "submarining". It doesn't provide very much extra intel though.
