Zimbabwe's farm seizure blocked
The land reform programme has been accompanied by violence
A southern African regional court has ordered Zimbabwe not to proceed with the seizure of a white farmer's land. The Namibia-based Southern African Development Community (Sadc) tribunal ruled in favour of Mike Campbell, who argued that the seizure was racist.
The outcome is seen as a blow to President Robert Mugabe's programme to transfer land to the black majority.
The ruling should allow Mr Campbell to remain on his farm until Zimbabwe's Supreme Court hears a group challenge.
Mr Campbell had asked the Sadc tribunal to overturn the seizure of his farm on the grounds that it was an example of racial discrimination, which the Sadc treaty outlaws.
Most of Zimbabwe's 4,000 white farmers have been forced off their land since 2000 under a government programme.
Mr Mugabe, who is set to run for re-election in March, says the programme is to reverse imbalances in land ownership resulting from the colonial era.
His critics say it is a cynical ploy to buy votes by distributing land to his supporters, which has led to a collapse in Zimbabwe's agricultural production.
Mr Campbell is one of 11 farmers from Chegutu, south-west of Harare, who faces criminal charges for refusing to leave his land.
The farmers could face up to two years in jail if found guilty, say reports.
Zim Ping.
Good luck to Mr. Campbell.
For decades, African countries, after being turned over to black rule, have turned into bloody Toltalitariats = and the blacks have slaughtered blacks to the hundreds of thousands...the countries turned into utter poverty ridden populations.
All in the name of "freedom" for the blacks from colonials...but it's still whitey's fault, rather like in DC, where black on black murder is rampant - but still whitey's fault
“the programme is to reverse imbalances in land ownership resulting from the colonial era.”
Sounds like a classic affirmative action program to me. Ultimately, I fear Mr Campbell will just be summarily shot.
Zimbabwe is probably the most racist country on the planet
And true....these black African countries have been a mess since decolonialization. Tin horn dictators, criminals, and even slave-owners (slavery is rampant in Africa), have made the content one big hell hole
“and the blacks have slaughtered blacks to the hundreds of thousands”
It is considered racist to suggest that it is their nature that compels such acts, but somehow more politically acceptable to suggest that they are unable to resist external forces that compel them. The conseqence is a tangled web of convoluted explanations which always shifts the blame elsewhere and intimidation and outrage when the obvious is stated. The end result is that whatever is at the root of Africa’s pain will never be addressed or remedied. Political correctness is subtle, insidious racism that will ulimately kill more innocent people than Marxism.

I wonder if Mr Campbell gets to sell his produce or does he just call up the gov’t thugs to pick it up?

Read just the first link and weep.
A good article, blam, but I fear that this thread will soon be filled with a great deal of fail. There are only eight responses, some of which are already facepalm worthy.
Here is a comment for ya...
South Africa can’t field a decent football team because they use racial quotas...not talent... to gain position on the team.
Same thing goes for Zim in everything they do hence...... only failure.
from here...

my 2 cents
oops see 13.
Thanks
I can see your point, they have done so much better ruling non african nations like hati
...so...what? :p
“Africas main problem is the fact that Tribalism still reins supreme.”
But why? Reverting to tribalism and the warfare that it entails seems to be how free Africa chooses to self-govern. To live under a rule of law, the people must choose it, and the leaders then respect it. Or perhaps the people have to agree to require, by force if necessary, its leaders to respect it. The problem is that ‘the people’ have to agree to give up their tribal identity and become a ‘people’ with a national identity. This is why the divisiveness of the liberal notion of ‘diverstiy’ is so destructive-it revives the sense of tribal or ethnic identity and fragments the national identity. To succeed as ‘Americans’ we must want to be Americans-one people, with one identity and a common interest in the preservation of the rule of law.

Let’s send them some experts from Detroit, or DC, or New Orleans to serve as an example.
