You’re right, that one should be higher up. Destroy the incentive to come here, and the stream will dry up.

Get some rest for tonight, ‘cause Lt. Col. Wm T. Russell will be joining freepers, Levinites and other conservatives on BTR at 7 pm. est. http://blogtalkradio.com/freedom

LC Russell will be running against Murtha in PA. A great man hears his countries call once again.

Good to see you Bah.

I agree, and I would add I would bet this BS on doing work nobody else will do is nothing but BS. I am not convinced we cannot allow immigrants who ‘want’ to be Americans to enter and work here. I cannot understand the mentality of bringing in workers who want to abuse our system, not contribute to it.

OMG!! I think I may join John Podesta’s site and get in a few comments myself. There are better fights about having pelosi step down as speaker, Bush is blackmailing her and others than the fights on illegal immigration threads on FR. That made my morning!

Here is the problem that both Huckabee and Obhma have. They are polling well but their challengers have the much better organization.

You have to actually get your people in Iowa out to the caucuses. That would suggest that Clinton, Paul and Romny, while not polling the best, will do the best because they have the best organizations in place.

...speed up the back log of people waiting to come to this country

Why would you do that? Are you for increasing the number of immigrants that come into this country every year? We need to reduce the number of legal immigrants to around 300,000 a year vice the 1.2 million that enter now. Much of the "backlog" has to do with number caps on various categories of immigration.

start checking those temporary visas closer.

About 30 to 40 percent of illegal aliens in this country came here legally and are visa overstays. We need to fully implement the US-Visit program to track and deport visa overstays. It is just as much a part of border security as building the fence.

FNS

Oprah

I watched the Obama part on CSPAN yesterday. Obama was dull, lackluster, uninspiring. By the conclusion of his long-winded impromptu rambling, he didn’t even get a standing ovation (from the camera pan right after he concluded).

Republican presidential hopeful, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, left, and his wife Ann, second from left, pose for photos with former President George H.W. Bush, right, and his wife Barbara, Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at College Station, Texas.

Huckabee is the only candidate the Pro Lifers trust. They are convinced that all the other candidates are wobbly on the Life issue. To them every other issue is secondary.

So why did the National Right to Life Committee, the largest U.S. anti-abortion, group endorse Fred?

>>Well I never how will they get out of this probably by ignoring it.<<

The DBM will cover for them, no matter what happens.

For some Sunday humor, go to John Podesta’s site which anita linked in reply #90 below. Read some of the feedback comments there.

PRECISELY!

We have immigration policy to make sure that we bring in people that can contribute positively to our society and not at the expense of the American people already here. That’s why we make them learn English, pass the tests, etc., so they learn how to fit in with the rest of us.

These border-hopper illegal aliens, all they do is hop a border and squat. They don’t learn anything. They don’t contribute jack squat to America and all most of them do is draw off the welfare rolls.

If there are jobs that need to be filled that can be filled by foreign labor and Americans literally “won’t do” or we don’t have enough to do, then we can probably work something out, but 1) let’s make sure that there aren’t any Americans able and willing to do it and 2) we shouldn’t grant those who already hopped the border illegitimately a free shot.

The local station hasn’t gone back to Timmy and Rudy yet. We are having some ice storms and they are covering road conditions and power outages.

Since 2000, 10.3 million immigrants have arrived — the highest seven-year period of immigration in U.S. history. More than half of post-2000 arrivals (5.6 million) are estimated to be illegal aliens. In terms of absolute numbers there is no comparison to what happened during the Great Wave of immigration in the early 1900s.

Back just in time to see Timmy attacking Rudy for Bernie Kerik.

Timmy thinks he has some kind of smoking gun. Rudy, like Fred, is good at not allowing Timmy to interrupt.

My comment was to increase the visas necessary if we need workers, for “legal” aliens who want to immigrate to the USA. To be honest I do not know the specific figures we want or need. My sense is to increase the numbers of legal aliens IF we need the workers.

I also agree with you on going after the overstays more.
