It appears that we have positive identification of the rifle used in the Omaha Mall shooting. The pictures from Fox 42: Omaha show an ordinary SKS rifle with a fixed 10 round magazine. The same rifle that millions of people in the United States own for hunting and plinking. It is an acceptable deer rifle for most of the country.
There have been many reports of "assault rifle" used in the MSM, and reports of 30 round magazines. It appears that all of these reports are false, probably intended to stir up anti-gun sentiment before the election.
LOL!
I tried Prozac once. back in the day when it was a wonder drug.
Its a load of rubbish IMHO.
The whole world is hopped up on quick fixes.

SSRIs:
The shocking link between psychiatric drugs, suicide, violence and mass murder
TRUE. TRUE.
QUITE TRUE.
It made me feel bad, just masked what I was dealing with at the time
The shots heard on the 9-11 tapes sounded like a larger caliber than a .223. Did anyone else think so?
If the carbine were not there I'd swear he was drinking a beer.
And, unless I'm fooled by the perspective, what appears to be a long, removable, magazine is too far forward to be in place.
But the mall photo is not an SKS.
The published shots of an SKS really do look like something out of an on line auction - which I wouldn't take as anything amiss unless they stated that it was THE mall weapon.
Odds are huge that even an AK variant was semi-auto in any event.
Exactly. :-)
I lightened up the photo with GIMP but I haven't any way of posting the results. There're so many JPEG artifacts it's hard to say for sure but I think his left hand is grasping and pushing forward on the sling, not the forearm, and the sling's what's sticking down and forward. No guarantees, though.
There is audio of some shots on a 911 call, it sure wasn't an auto.
SKS’s and AK’s are 7.62
(The exception being the AK-74 which is .223)
Nobody should have just one SKS. :) They were going for around $80 for very good condition used Yugos a few years back at AIM Surplus and Southern Ohio gun. The only bad part was the huge amounts of cosmoline on the used arsenal models.
They're going for $160 now. Wish I had bought more.
I said way back(at 89 bucks) ya should buy a dozen just so you can hand them out to the neighbors when the $%^# hits the fan
I have beautiful mint one that was in the Serb army inscribed with words "Faith in God, Fatherland and Buda"
It's in Yugo cyrillic.
Cool rifle
The Yugo rifles are everywhere now but are full of collector value, due to the inscriptions
BTW I had my rifles markings translated here on FR
There is no evidence he was on an SSRI.
Well what was his accuracy rate? Shoppers are generally in motion, and employees standing still.
Nope. I don't doubt it. But he was currently not under treatment. And if he was not under treatment, he probably wasn't getting his meds. So if he stopped taking an SSRI even a month ago, you'll have to hunting for a different boogeyman.
It seems odd to me that so many people on this forum get mad when the media jumps straight to "guns" being the problem, but no one has any problem here with jumping straight to an SSRI or atypical antipsychotic being the problem.
Unfortuntely, right you are.
To the MSM it is always an assault rifle and always high powered.
