Most of them are illegals without license, registration or insurance. My wife’s car was hit by one a couple of years ago in the middle of Ventura Blvd. The perp just kept going. It’s a disgrace, but in the People’s Republic of LA, what else is new?
Hell, this one is easy. If 50% of the cars are stolen by illegals, how are you going to track them down?
A lot of people are just scared. They’ve never been in an accident before. They don’t know what to do.”.....What???...They have to speak and understand English first!
Hit and run 50% get away?...........Yeah, the one that got hit stays put!...............
Crimes like this can solved in less than 60 minutes, most of the time.
It’s a discrace that this is going on but the Valley is full of illegals. Van Nuys is a joke!
I just wonder how many of these hit-and-runs are parking lot dings.
I got hit three times in California. In each case it was an attempted hit and run, and each time it was a Mexican with no license and no insurance. No one bothered to check to see if they were legal.
When I was about 20, I was driving home from class (I was in college.)
I passed by the high school I had graduated from a few years earlier, and got hit on the side by some kid driving a beat-up Chevy Cavalier, and he promptly backed up, and took off.
Luckily, this kid apparently wasn’t very popular since a girl that was walking home and saw it happen gave me his name. Turns out (not surprisingly) that he had no insurance and no license.
It gets better - my sister was in his homeroom! Next day in homeroom, she turns to him and says “so tell me, why did you hit my brother’s car and take off like a little p*ssy, anyway?”
She said that black kid turned whiter than anyone in the classroom when she asked him that. About 10 minutes later the cops picked him up out of class.
Of course they didn’t really do anything, but they did make him pay me and my insurance company back, which he did after about a year of making payments.
This individual rearended me in gridlock traffic that was going about 5 miles an hour.
This person then promptly fled the scene down the first side street.
Luckily for my insurance company and me, this person was driving an extremely distinctive vehicle and I was able to commit the license plate to memory before their car drove off.
The officer who took my statement later told me that the vehicle which hit me was the only one of its model, color and year in the state of New York.
And no, the driver was not an illegal immigrant.
I agree. no isurance. might or might not all be illegals.
” Hit-and-run drivers do not belong to an exclusive income class, ethnicity, gender or area of town, police say. “
Yet there is a 50/50 chance or a hit and run in the SFV vs neighboring Burbank and Glendale.
Why don’t we compare the income class, ethnicity and gender of these three areas to see if there is a correlation. I’m guessing that gender rates will be the same in all three areas but there will be a dramatic difference in ethnicity and income classes.
